While he may not be on the main roster at the moment, I think people would not disagree with the fact that the current NXT champion has the potential to be a Hardcore Champion if the title was still active.

Ciampa is dubbed as the biggest heel in pro-wrestling at the moment and his five-star matches and long-time feud with former partner Johnny Gargano is a testament to his talent. From coming into the Dusty Rhodes tag-team classic to do a job, to holding the NXT title, The Sicilian Psychopath has truly come a long way.

Like I said earlier, he is yet to make his debut on the main roster. But Imagine if his first day on either RAW or SmackDown Live would have been by taking out the Hardcore champion and winning the title. Well surely, the WWE Universe would have been up on their feet.
