5 Superstars who could partner Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 34

Who will be at Ronda's side if The Great One is not available?

Since Ronda Rousey made her debut in the WWE last Sunday night, fans have been speculating as to what direction the company is planning for her, as we get on the 'Road to WrestleMania'.

Various rumours have been circulating that the company had plans for Rousey to team with The Rock to take on Stephanie McMahon and Triple H, a match which they could no doubt bill as being three years in the making, following their confrontation at WrestleMania 31.

The Rock and Ronda teaming up would get the company some massive attention but if more recent rumours are to be believed, The Rock is going to be occupied during WrestleMania 34, which leaves Rousey without a tag team partner in New Orleans.

The WWE needn't worry though, as there are plenty of eligible superstars who could fill the massive void left by The Rock. Triple H has made plenty of enemies in recent months, so let's take a look at who could help Ronda take down the King of Kings at WrestleMania.

#5 Braun Strowman

Will Braun have the opportunity to get 'these hands' on Triple H?
Will Braun have the opportunity to get 'these hands' on Triple H?

After the finish to last year's Survivor Series, there are plenty of superstars who have a grudge against Triple H, but the one who would benefit the most from this match-up is, without a doubt, Braun Strowman.

Strowman is one of the most over stars in the WWE right now and with Roman and Brock all tied up with each other, it looks as though the monster among men has no real feud heading into WrestleMania season.

A match with Kane could be an option, but Braun decimated the big red machine on the most recent edition of Raw in what appeared to be the end of their feud. There is the possibility of him chasing The Miz for the Intercontinental title but that position is rumoured to be going to Finn Balor, which would make more sense, given recent events.

Teaming with Rousey at 'Mania would be huge for Braun and it would give him plenty of exposure as a star in the WWE. The team is also guaranteed to win, and a victory over Triple H at WrestleMania is often a good indication of future success.

#4 Kurt Angle

For months, a bout between Kurt Angle and Triple H had been rumoured to take place at WrestleMania, with the end of Survivor Series looking to be the moment that established their rivalry.

However, things have gone quiet since then and it now looks as though Kurt is without a dancing partner in New Orleans. Having a look at the current roster, it is difficult to choose an opponent for Kurt, especially with Samoa Joe injured and Jason Jordan tied up with Seth Rollins. A feud between Braun and Kurt could work, especially considering Braun's behaviour on recent episodes of Raw but it's unlikely that the company would want to give Kurt such a physically demanding match.

The best option then could be Kurt teaming up with Rousey to take on Triple H and Stephanie. Kurt already has ample reason to pursue the duo and offering his services to Rousey so she will sign with Raw, would be a nice touch.

Rousey is also a life-long wrestling fan and having her interact with such a legend of the industry might be a nice way to endear her to the WWE universe.

#3 Shane McMahon

Will we get an all McMahon affair at Wrestlemania?
Will we get an all McMahon affair at Wrestlemania?

'Here comes the money!' is exactly what Vince McMahon must have been thinking when Ronda Rousey agreed to sign with the WWE. Rousey is a major coup for the company and Vince will be sure to milk the signing for every penny.

With that in mind, the company may call upon one of the superstars they believe to be a major draw to partner with her- Shane McMahon. It would not be the first time the WWE has made WrestleMania a McMahon centric event, and Shane's inclusion in the match would make sense even from a storyline perspective.

Would fans want to watch three company authority figures going toe to toe in the ring? Is this really the best use of Rousey at WrestleMania? Probably not, but you can never rule out ego when it comes to booking a match involving any member of the McMahon clan at WrestleMania.

#2 John Cena

Could Big Match John lend a hand to the former UFC superstar?
Could Big Match John lend a hand to the former UFC superstar?

If rumours are to be believed, Big Match John is heading towards a WrestleMania match with The Undertaker. Many fans are already pencilling this bout into their diaries for April 8th, but what if there is no substance to these rumours?

The Undertaker's appearance at Raw 25 was ambiguous, to say the least, and Cena has, thus far, made zero references to the Deadman on television.

If The Undertaker has finally hung his boots up for good, then John Cena could be the perfect choice for this match-up. The match will definitely be billed as one of the most important of the night and John Cena and Ronda Rousey wrestling together is sure to not only draw the fans in, but also garner some massive mainstream media attention.

John Cena competing in a mixed gender tag match for the second consecutive year will likely disappoint a lot of fans but this might just prove too big an opportunity to miss.

#1 Batista

Could a Wrestlemania match pave the way for a full time for Batista?
Could a WrestleMania match pave the way for a full time return?

Former World Heavyweight Champion turned Hollywood star Batista has been fairly vocal about his desire to return to the WWE.

On JR's podcast last year, Batista said he would return to the ring if he was given a full-time schedule and, more importantly for this article, if he could feud with Triple H.

Batista and Triple H spent the better part of 2005 feuding and it's questionable whether or not fans would want to see the two former sparring partners have a full-on feud again in 2018. Could this match, which involves Triple H, be offered to Batista as a compromise?

The return of Batista, who has found massive success outside of the WWE in the Marvel Universe, would also generate plenty of media buzz and having him partner with Rousey would only add to that.

This one is a real long shot, but stranger things can, and have happened in the WWE.
