5 Superstars who had their debut match at Wrestlemania

Ronda
Ronda Rousey would wrestle her first match at the grandest stage of them all, Wrestlemania.

On this week's edition of Monday Night Raw, it was announced that Ronda Rousey would make her in-ring debut at Wrestlemania 34 teaming up with the Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle to take on the power couple of Triple H and Stephanie Mcmahon.

Not many superstars were lucky enough to make their in-ring debut for WWE at Wrestlemania. Here we look at 5 Superstars who have achieved this feat. This list does not include a one-time appearance by celebrities and is strictly talking about main roster debut.

#5. Lana

Lana made her in-ring debut almost 2 years after her first appearance on the main roster.

The Ravishing Russian Lana made her debut in WWE as a manager for the Bulgarian Brute, Rusev. Lana quickly caught everyone's attention with her beauty and accent. While she is known better as a manager than as an in-ring performer, Lana actually made her in-ring debut at Wrestlemania 32.

At Wrestlemania 32 pre-show, Team Total Divas faced off against Team B.A.D and Blonde, with Lana being part of the latter. Brie Bella would go on to win the match for Team Total Divas after making Naomi submit to the Yes! lock. This match also ended Lana's temporary alliance with Team B.A.D and would go on to again manage Rusev.

#4. Big E

Big E

Big E or then known by his full name, Big E Langston, was the second ever NXT Champion. Big E made his debut on the main roster on December 17, 2012, edition of RAW attacking John Cena and forming an alliance with Dolph Ziggler and AJ Lee. The Master of Five Count would serve as an enforcer for AJ Lee's kayfabe boyfriend, Dolph Ziggler.

Big E's in-ring debut on the main roster would come almost 3 months after his first appearance, where he teamed up with Dolph Ziggler to take on Team Hell NO, comprising of Daniel Bryan and Kane for the WWE Tag Team Championship. Bryan picked up the victory for his team by pinning Dolph Ziggler.

#3. Baron Corbin

The Lone Wolf won the third edition of Andre the Gian Memorial Battle Royal.

Baron Corbin made quite a name for himself in the NXT. At 6ft 6 inch and weighing 317 pounds, Baron Corbin was billed as the next big guy in WWE with some comparing him to the likes of The Undertaker and Kane.

The transition from NXT to the main roster hasn't gone well for many superstars. However, Baron Corbin was up for big things from the word go. He made his in-ring debut on the main roster at Wrestlemania 32 as a participant in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Baron Corbin won the 20 man battle royal by last eliminating Kane.

#2. Fandango

Fandango won the fourth season of NXT as Johnny Curtis.

After his gimmick of Johnny Curtis failed to elevate him to a higher platform, The Premiere Player would debut as a ballroom dancer accompanied by a female partner. Despite his debut, Fandango refused to wrestle his debut match on multiple occasions because the ring announcers and his opponents could not pronounce his name to his satisfaction.

Fandango's first feud would come up against none other than the Ayatollah of Rock 'n' Rolla, Chris Jericho who intentionally mispronounced his name. The two would meet at the grandest stage of them all, Wrestlemania. At Wrestlemania 29, Fandango shocked the world by pinning Chris Jericho clean. Fandango would then go on to become an overnight sensation with the crowd dancing to his theme song, ChaChaLala.

#1.Sting

Sting was one of the biggest names in WCW to have not signed with WWE after WCW went out of business.

Sting was inarguably the biggest name in professional wrestling who never signed with WWE. Well, the said words were true until Sting would eventually sign with WWE in 2014. Sting made his much-awaited debut at Survivor Series 2014 aiding Dolph Ziggler to defeat Team Authority.

Sting continued his feud with The Authority which would eventually lead to a match against Triple H at Wrestlemania 31. The match involved interference from the members of both D-Generation X and New World Order. Triple H ultimately won the match after hitting Sting with his signature sledgehammer, with the commentary team noting it as the end of the rivalry between WWE and WCW.
