Fandango won the fourth season of NXT as Johnny Curtis.

After his gimmick of Johnny Curtis failed to elevate him to a higher platform, The Premiere Player would debut as a ballroom dancer accompanied by a female partner. Despite his debut, Fandango refused to wrestle his debut match on multiple occasions because the ring announcers and his opponents could not pronounce his name to his satisfaction.

Fandango's first feud would come up against none other than the Ayatollah of Rock 'n' Rolla, Chris Jericho who intentionally mispronounced his name. The two would meet at the grandest stage of them all, Wrestlemania. At Wrestlemania 29, Fandango shocked the world by pinning Chris Jericho clean. Fandango would then go on to become an overnight sensation with the crowd dancing to his theme song, ChaChaLala.
