Roman Reigns was very close to winning the WWE World title at WrestleMania 31
At WrestleMania 31, Roman Reigns took on Brock Lesnar with the latter's WWE World Heavyweight title on the line. The main event was about to end when Seth Rollins came out to a huge pop and cashed in his Money In The Bank contract during the match. Thus, the match was turned into a Triple Threat bout. In a matter of seconds, Rollins had pinned Reigns to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
Rollins left the stadium with the belt on his shoulder, in one of the most unexpected endings to a WrestleMania. The original plans for the match weren't for Rollins to come out victorious. The finish to the match was changed sometime during the event itself, and Rollins was informed of the same after his loss to Randy Orton. Roman Reigns' family was furious at WWE for changing the finish to the bout and taking Reigns' big moment away from him at the last moment. In this clip, you can clearly see how upset Reigns' mom was when she saw Rollins coming out.

Given the opportunity to script WWE’s next big storyline, Abhilash would treat fans to the second installment of The Bloodline Civil War. He would book Roman Reigns to re-form The Bloodline with The Usos and Sami Zayn upon his comeback. The angle would see The Tribal Chief-led group go head-to-head with The Rock, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu in a blockbuster family feud.
