5 Tag Teams who should reunite in WWE

The Hardy Boyz returning at WrestleMania 33 was a moment fans will remember for a long time, but they aren't the only tag team the WWE Universe would like to see make a comeback.

The history of the WWE tag team division is long and colourful. Some of the greatest Superstars in the history of the company either got their start with a partner or found new life by teaming with someone else looking for a new push.

Seeing a favourite team reunite is always fun, especially if they stick around for more than one or two matches. Today's tag team division is more competitive than it has been in years, but it feels like something is missing.

The Hardys and Usos are both established duos who have been together for years, but every other team on the roster lacks the same kind of longevity. At most, some of the current duos have a couple of years under their belts as partners.

Some great teams could still reunite since both Superstars still work for the company. This slideshow will look at five popular teams WWE should consider putting back together.

#5 The Prime Time Players

Titus O'Neil and Darren Young each have their upsides, but both have struggled as singles stars. Their most success came when they were The Prime Time Players, and it might be time to consider putting the band back together.

Young's weird gimmick with Bob Backlund hasn't clicked since the first segment they performed together, and the Titus brand, whatever that is, has had even less success. Both men need something to get them back on the right track.

Teaming together again wouldn't be a permanent solution, but it would allow them to use their experience as partners to help each other.

The tag scene is already crowded, but there is always room for another team to add some variety to the mix. The Prime Time Players had great chemistry, and they could use it to help young teams get established while also giving themselves a second chance at stardom.

#4 Luke Harper and Erick Rowan

Luke Harper did a great job while he was pursuing the WWE title against Bray Wyatt, but for some inexplicable reason, WWE halted his push as soon as Wyatt was drafted away from SmackDown.

Harper is a rare breed of wrestler who can do things only a Cruiserweight would attempt, while also beating you into the mat with his incredible strength. He has too many tools to be relegated to the sidelines.

When it comes to Erick Rowan, he hasn't been successful since the original incarnation of The Wyatt Family, and even then he was always playing third fiddle to Wyatt and Harper.

Rowan is a monster of a man with a lot to offer, but he always seems to struggle by himself. He and Harper have a history of putting on great matches against other teams, and since neither man is doing anything by themselves right now, putting them back together would be the best option for everyone.

#3 The Edgeheads

Zack Ryder is currently working his way back from an injury, but when he does make his return, it should be as Curt Hawkins’ tag team partner, and as an added bonus, Edge should be their manager.

The duo formerly known as The Major Brothers were a great support team for Edge when he was ruling over SmackDown with an iron fist, and The Rated R Superstar may be willing to give back to his proteges by returning as their leader for a short run.

Hawkins’ current run has been a joke, and Ryder hasn't fared much better over the past several years. His brief run as intercontinental champion was WWE's way of throwing him a bone after burying him for no logical reason.

Both men could help each other and the tag team division at the same time, but it would only work with the right storyline. Edge returning to reunite them after seeing how far they have fallen would be the perfect way to begin a renewed push for the duo.

#2 The Lucha Dragons

WWE never fully invested in a push for Kalisto and Sin Cara as a tag team, which is unfortunate because they were one of the most popular acts in NXT during their run in the developmental system.

The Lucha Dragons are kid-friendly, a good way for WWE to push masks at the merchandise stand and a duo capable of performing some truly incredible moves in the ring. They are currently on different brands, but that has never stopped WWE before.

All it would take is an excuse to move one of them to the other show and you have the makings of a reunion.

They ended their partnership on good terms, and since neither man has a singles push going at the moment, they would be much more valuable as a tag team than they are as singles wrestlers.

#1 The Social Outcasts

The Social Outcasts had a few different members, but in this case, we are talking about Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel. Both men are in desperate need of a push, and they would be better served in the tag team division than by themselves.

Dallas and Axel each have a family legacy in the business and plenty of in-ring ability, but they have never been able to break out of the lower midcard scene. They might even benefit from going down to NXT to rebuild their reputations the way Tyson Kidd did before he formed his popular tag team with Cesaro and Natalya.

They aren't even being used as jobbers on television, so anything that would get them back on television would be a step in the right direction. If they are given a little more control over how their characters are portrayed, they could become quite popular as a duo.
