5 takeaways from this week's Monday Night RAW!: 5th February, 2018

WWE presented RAW from a snowstorm-hit city in Iowa, but the episode of RAW was not hit by any storms. The build-up to Elimination Chamber continued in full flow, with two more qualifying matches for the men's match taking place. The "historic" Women's Revolution continued with a major announcement for their EC match.RAW had a staggering nine matches, a record-of-sorts, and all of them surprisingly helped progress the storytelling. Less throwaway stuff and more meaningful segments are the need of the hour, and this episode did exactly that! We look at five major talking points from this week's episode of Monday Night RAW.

#5: A past rivalry revisited

The Big Dog came out on top against the Eater of Worlds
EnThe Big Dog' came out on top against the 'Eater of Worlds'

Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns were being advertised as the major match from this episode, so seeing them at it right at the start was rather surprising. However, two fantastic individuals who have a great history between them produced a decent match from start to finish.Roman Reigns is widely predicted to be RAW's top challenger heading into WrestleMania season, so seeing him pick up the win was pretty predictable. The announcers did a good job of hyping Bray's win from the Elimination Chamber last year, a run which seems forgettable at this point. Bray Wyatt has another opportunity next week, but the odds of him winning the Fatal-4 Way are quite low.

#4: H I S T O R Y

Little Miss Bliss has a tough task on her hand at Elimination Chamber
Little Miss Bliss has a tough task on her hand at Elimination ChamberThe Women's Revolution further progressed this week with the imminent announcement of the six participants in the first ever Women's Elimination Chamber match. Alexa Bliss will be defending her title against three former champions in Banks, Bayley and Mickie James, while Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville are somehow receiving a title opportunity. As many reviewers have pointed out in the past, WWE's decision to force the "historical" Women's Revolution stuff down our throats is a pretty futile practice. A more natural evolution leading to a declaration of Women's Elimination Chamber match would've been great, right? Nonetheless, all the six women will be eager to make a name for themselves in three weeks.

#3: Is RAW not ready for Asuka?

Another week. Another feather to the cap of Asuka's streak
Another week. Another feather to the cap of Asuka's streak

Prior to the Royal Rumble match, Renee Young specifically stated that the winner of the Rumble match could face any challenger of his\her choice. With Nakamura already picking Styles as his opponent, Asuka could be heading to Smackdown to face the Queen, Charlotte Flair.

Asuka has defeated the top women superstars of RAW quite handsomely in the past few weeks, which could be a clear indication of her switch to blue brand soon. Asuka running through every possible challenger on RAW, and declaring she's had enough, could be a great storyline in coming weeks.

The Queen vs The Empress of Tomorrow will be a monumental match and could possibly be a sleeper hit at Wrestlemania!

#2: Seth Rollins-Jason Jordan on a collision course?

Literally nobody likes Jason Jordan!
Literally, nobody likes Jason Jordan!

Seth Rollins-Jason Jordan was the unlikeliest of teams in recent times and the cracks are showing up rather soon. Jason Jordan suffered a legitimate neck injury(paying homage to his pop-pop) and could be in danger of missing WrestleMania.

Seth Rollins is a rather unlucky man! His potential opponent for WrestleMania, a heel Dean Ambrose got injured, leading to the Shield taking some time off. Now another rumored opponent of Rollins, Jordan is in danger of missing this WrestleMania.

Rollins and Jordan are two exceptional athletes who can produce a Match Of The Year contender if given the right time. A frustrated and angry Seth Rollins vs the annoying Jason Jordan could be something the crowd will be deeply interested in.

#1: An unpredictable ending to the night!

John Cena pinned on an episode of RAW is as rare as a Halley Comet sighting.

Elias defeated Braun Strowman and John Cena on RAW. Yes. You read that right! The tremendous booking of Elias continued with him displaying his Macho Man-like persona and defeating the two biggest stars in WWE.

Elias is on the path to become the biggest superstar in the company. His perfect gimmick, proper build and decent wrestling skills are a huge bonus. Elias will exit his pod last during the Elimination Chamber match. Expect him to make his stay inside his pod a memorable one. Imagine Elias singing his songs while others slug it out in the ring.

The rise of Elias is a bright shining light in the clumsy booking of WWE.
