They could have built around the relationship, a feel-good teacher-disciple storyline but the creative has not bothered. They randomly appear in a few matches, deliver decent in-ring performance and fade away.
Chad Gable is a promising athlete having great matches against the likes of AJ Styles and Kurt Angle. In fact, many would have preferred to have Gable be revealed as the illegitimate son of Angle rather than his American Alpha teammate Jason Jordan.
A rift between the two could also include the returning Jason Jordan and we could have the long-awaited reunion of the former NXT Tag team champions in the form of a new and improved American Alpha.
