When WWE arrives at the Wells Fargo Center for its 31st Annual Royal Rumble event, it will have an uphill task of presenting an impressive event in front of hardcore Philadelphia fans, who witnessed a rather disappointing showing the last time Royal Rumble took place in their city.

Royal Rumble is among the big-four WWE pay per view, something that fans all over the globe eagerly wait for.

Although the Rumble winners in the last few years have been met with immense backlash from the fans, WWE's decision to send Roman Reigns out at #30 to generate a positive reaction for the eventual winner Randy Orton, was a clear sign that WWE would do anything to make their event a success.

This year as well, WWE would be relying on a few decision and moments to ensure that the January spectacle is a success.

#4 Jason Jordan should turn on Seth Rollins

The seeds for this break up were sown at 25th Anniversary of Raw

When Dean Ambrose went down with a triceps Injury that required an immediate surgery and a long lay off after that, WWE was forced to shelve its plans for the Wrestlemania showdown between The Lunatic Fringe and The Architect. WWE, to the surprise of everyone, went for the odd pairing of Rollins with Jason Jordan, as they went on to win the Raw Tag Team Championships together on their first night as a team.

With rumors circulating that WWE has replaced Ambrose with Jordan for the Wrestlemania match against Rollins, it is the perfect timing for the Son of the Olympic Gold Medalist to turn heel on his partner, given that his forced face run has generated a unanimous negative response from the fans.

The seeds for this eventual breakup were sown on Raw 25 past Monday when Rollins knocked Jordan out with a knee to the face. With the duo scheduled to defend their Tag Title against The Bar at Royal Rumble, Jordan attacking Rollins after they lose their title would be a perfect start to their feud. Moreover, it would give the fans a legitimate reason to hate Jordon.

#3 Braun Strowman should win the Universal Title

Barring the No Mercy Main Event, Strowman has completely dominated Lesnar
Barring the No Mercy Main Event, Strowman has completely dominated Lesnar

Braun Strowman was WWE's MVP in 2017. The Monster Among Man, over the course of his long feud with Roman Reigns, has transformed himself into an indestructible force. Whenever the Man makes his way to the ring, no one standing inside the ring is safe. Roman Reigns, Triple H, Samoa Joe, Brock Lesnar, all have faced the wrath of the Monster. Brock Lesnar, in particular, has been completely dominated by Strowman. The way he powerslammed Lesnar twice through the announce table at Summerslam and left him lying there for most of the match left a lasting image in the mind of fans.

Even during the build-up to the Universal Title Match at Royal Rumble, Strowman has completely destroyed both Lesnar and Kane every week on Raw. WWE made a big mistake when they had Lesnar defeat Strowman with only one F-5 at No Mercy and they can not make the same mistake again. Strowman should go on a Rampage spree, just like at SummerSlam, targeting both Kane and, specifically, Lesnar. WWE needs to keep building him as a Monster leading towards Wrestlemania, and what better way to keep him relevant by having him win the Universal Title

#2 Asuka should break the all-time Elimination record

The Empress of Tomorrow must continue her dominance on the Women's Division.
The Empress of Tomorrow must continue her dominance on the Women's Division.

There was a time when everyone believed that Kane's record on 11 Rumble Eliminations would never be broken, but since records are meant to be broken, WWE went forward with Roman Reigns breaking that record in 2014, eliminating 12 superstars during his impressive Rumble debut.

With WWE presenting its first ever Women's Rumble this year, there's a very good chance that the record might be shattered again. Ever since her WWE debut, Asuka has been portrayed as an unstoppable force. She has dominated every single female superstar that has crossed her path and is even the favorite to win the Rumble match this year. Having him shatter a few Rumble records en route to a memorable victory would be a nice way of starting the Royal Rumble event.

#1 Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura as the Final-2 participants

This Face off, if it happens at the Rumble, would be surely remembered for a long long time.
This Faceoff, if it happens at the Rumble, will be remembered for a long long time.

Both Shinsuke Nakamura and Finn Balor were megastars in Japan, and their time in WWE's development territory can be regarded as the best time period of NXT. However, their treatment since their main roster debuts have been subject to a lot of criticism from their fans.

Ever since his return from a shoulder injury on the night after Wrestlemania, Balor was involved in a boring, lacklustre feud with Bray Wyatt. Not only that, reportedly Balor was deemed 'not over enough' with the fans by WWE management and robbed of his guaranteed rematch for Universal Title. Nakamura, on the other hand, started his WWE career with lacklustre feud with Dolph Ziggler and Baron Corbin, before losing to one Jinder Mahal in a feud that completely dented his credibility.

With Nakamura and Balor both favorites to win the Rumble match, it would be a huge moment if the two of them were the final 2 participants in the Rumble match. Apart from generating a thunderous reaction from the crowd, it will also bring the surprise factor to the Rumble Match. Two NJPW alumni, fighting in a WWE ring for a spot in the main event of Wrestlemania, is certainly a moment that would make this Royal Rumble a memorable event.
