#4 Make wins and losses a thing

Being a consummate wrestler, Cody Rhodes understands the value of winning or losing a match. In WWE, it isn’t even a thing. Some Superstars are often overprotected by WWE (Brock Lesnar for instance) while others lose their bouts continuously. It might not seem like an issue, but it is. Kevin Owens lost most of his matches last year, but in 2019, Vince McMahon gifted him a WWE title shot against Kofi Kingston without any no.1 contender match.

“One thing we really strongly want to present is wins and losses mattering again in pro wrestling. That takes more than the W and the L column. We’re talking about percentage of times someone loses to this particular maneuver, percentages against somebody of this height, a whole by-the-numbers approach that really intrigues me. It’s not a cornerstone of AEW necessarily, but it’s a great peripheral element we’re working on, and that’s going to be exclusive to us. (HT: Cagesideseats.com for the quotes)

It is a complicated statement by Cody, but the idea is there. Wins and losses are something that once mattered in wrestling, but now, it has vanished. But since it will matter in AEW, we can expect everything to have a logical explanation. What I mean by this is that wrestlers won’t lose consecutive matches against individual Superstars and then become unbeatable. AEW will try their best to make things look as realistic as possible.
