As it stands, Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce seem like they will be the two authority figures on the WWE SmackDown brand going forward. But if Adam Pearce does become the next Universal Champion, there is every possibility that Deville can assume her role as the sole WWE authority figure.
The company clearly has big plans for Sonya Deville in this role, before she is ready to enter the ring once gain. Maybe when she does, Adam Pearce can come back and reclaim her duties from her.
This could allow someone in the WWE SmackDown roster's female division to potentially step up and get into it physically with Sonya Deville. Maybe Bayley, who is out of the title picture could assault an authority figure and get into trouble, as a result.
Sonya Deville may have been brought back in this position for this exact same reason, because Adam Pearce could be taking a sabbatical while he competes in the main-event spot against Roman Reigns.
