Losing the Universal Championship to Brock Lesnar would be a huge deal for Roman Reigns and his current character. The entire Head of the Table gimmick works well because Reigns has the credibility of being the Universal Champion.

If he loses the title, he no longer has the claim to be the best. Even The Usos might stop acknowledging him as their Trible Chief. All this could lead to a possible character change for Roman Reigns.

It was previously reported that WWE does intend to eventually turn Reigns back to a babyface. This, however, might not be the best way forward as there is still a lot that he can do as a heel. A slight change in character might work in his favor, but the company should avoid a full-blown face turn for the foreseeable future.

Brock Lesnar winning the Universal Championship could lead to a plethora of interesting match-ups for him on SmackDown. He is known to have some amazing matches against smaller opponents.

The top contender to step up to him after Roman Reigns would be Finn Balor. The former NXT Champion was pretty much robbed out of a Universal title match recently and could look to get back into the title picture soon.

The two previously faced each other back at the 2019 Royal Rumble when Balor challenged Lesnar for the Universal title but was unsuccessful in defeating him. However, he could make things interesting if he brings back his Demon King persona against Brock Lesnar this time.
