Believe it or not, the last time Brock Lesnar wrestled a match on WWE RAW was almost 17 years ago. On the night in 2002, Brock Lesnar faced and defeated ECW and Hardcore legend Tommy Dreamer. Since then, the closest 'The Beast' has come to wrestling on RAW was on the night after WrestleMania 31 where he was supposed to face then WWE Champion Seth Rollins who refused to take part in the match.

A lot of things have happened in both WWE and the world in general in the 17 years since Lensar's last match on RAW. We've seen technological leaps from the first iPhone and Android technology. Don't forget, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook weren't yet a thing when Brock Lesnar last wrestled on RAW either. One last thing, 4 new countries have been formed since then too.

#5 The rise of WWE NXT

One of the biggest changes that have happened since Brock Lesnar's last RAW match has been the rise of NXT. Back in 2002, WWE feeder developmental system consisted of the likes of OVW and FCW.

Since it's inception in its current form, NXT has transformed itself in one of the hottest brand in pro wrestling in itself. It gives Superstars a chance to showcase what they have before making the jump to the main roster as well as gaining experience in WWE's style and performing in front of cameras.

A huge chunk of the current roster has come through NXT and the future is bright for the black and yellow brand.

When Brock Lesnar last wrestled on RAW in 2002, the Ruthless Aggression Era had just begun the year before. This era was signified by the dominance of Triple H on RAW and the SmackDown Six who took the blue brand to the next level.

The Ruthless Aggression Era was followed by the PG Era in 2008. The PG Era was followed by the new era which is going on at the time of writing.

The episode of RAW on which Brock Lesnar wrestle Tommy Dreamer in 2002 was 2 hours long. Things have changed a lot in WWE and on RAW since then. One of the biggest changes that has come to WWE's flagship show is that it has since gone from 2 hours to 3 hours.

A lot of fans have blamed the extension of RAW to 3 hours as a reason for ratings going down.
