5 things that point to Sasha Banks leaving WWE is a work

Could Sasha Banks leaving WWE be a work?
Could Sasha Banks leaving WWE be a work?

Is it a work?

While most of The WWE Universe probably doesn't think so, especially with how much Sasha Banks' gripes with the company seem to be based in reality, The boss and even WWE have made decisions that seem to show otherwise. In fact, it honestly feels like WWE is trying to set up something great here.

Whether that turns out to be true or not remains to be seen and will depend on what Sasha Banks' real thoughts are on WWE and its landscape, but one has to admit this could end up being one of the biggest swerves of all time. It could also be what turns the women's tag team division into something truly special.

With that being said and the jury still being out on what Sasha Banks' future in WWE will actually be, here are five signs that Sasha Banks leaving the company is a work. As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments below and tell us if you think Banks will ever return to a WWE ring.

#5 Publicity

Publicity.

Its the name of the game a lot of times for WWE, and believe it or not, it might be the case when it comes to the ongoing saga between Banks and the company. Think about it! Whether Banks is actually leaving or not, the rumors have gotten the attention of a lot of media people and is creating conversations about the future of the star.

If nothing else, WWE is just soaking everything in right now and waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow and maybe even not at Money in the Bank, but the longer the company lets this go on and the more ambiguity they shroud Banks' career in, the more publicity they will receive for doing so.

Does that mean this is a publicity stunt? In reality, no one really knows yet, but WWE seems to be doing everything they can to keep the story relevant and Banks is doing her part to make sure that happens as well. In the end, it might be hard to believe its all a work and that Banks and WWE are on good terms, but maybe that's how the company wants us to think right now.

#4 WWE's reality-based storytelling

WWE did great with Rousey and Lynch, but can they do the same with Sasha Banks?

In all honesty, WWE's reality-based storytelling is one of the best things the company has going for it right now and hopefully that will continue on into the future. With that being said, however, and the company's brilliant work with The Ronda Rousey storyline, what's to stop the company from doing something similar with Sasha Banks.

In fact, WWE seemingly missed a huge opportunity by not turning Dean Ambrose leaving the company into a storyline, which could have created a really white-hot feud heading into WrestleMania 35. Fortunately for WWE, they have another chance to do that with Sasha Banks and one would have to imagine that they wouldn't pass it up this time.

If they do however or if Banks' friction with the company is too much to overcome, expect the company to miss out on the opportunity of a lifetime. Furthermore, expect them to also be kicking themselves later for not doing so!

#3 Deleting her tweet

Sasha Banks posted a very cryptic tweet before Raw this week and then deleted it!
Sasha Banks posted a very cryptic tweet before Raw this week and then deleted it!

Sasha Banks has been posting a lot of cryptic tweets lately, which has left fans to wonder what the hell is going on and what will happen to Banks in the future? While there is no definite answer to that, especially with her not showing up on Raw this week, her tweet before the show started kind of hinted at it all being a work.

"If you only knew, ya marks!"

Banks said in what was seemingly her first tweet addressing the situation. She followed up the comment with hashtags of Raw, SmackDown Live, NXT, Evolve, and other WWE entities, thus creating speculation that Banks and the company are at least on talking terms right now.

In fact, the tweet also hinted at her possibly joining NXT or even another one of WWE's other promotions. If nothing else, this is Banks' chance to once again take on a high profile role in the women's revolution, especially if she gets sent back down to NXT, and allows her the chance to shake up the women's revolution in ways previously thought impossible.

#2 How WWE mentioned her on Raw

WWE mentioned Sasha Banks a lot on this week's edition of Monday Night Raw!
WWE mentioned Sasha Banks a lot on this week's edition of Monday Night Raw!

Bayley found herself on the receiving end of taunting from the IIconics on Raw and while Naomi would come to her aid later in the night as apart of the shake-up, it wasn't until after The Hugger was seen calling Banks and asking her where she was. Interestingly enough, it seems like this is a sign that WWE is once again blurring reality and fiction.

In fact, between the way WWE announcers made Sasha Banks' future in the company uncertain, and Banks' now deleted tweet earlier in the day, it looks like this is all a work of some kind. Either that or Banks is literally holding the storyline hostage and WWE doesn't know exactly how to move on yet.

Either way, it feels like WWE is going out of their way to mention the ongoing situation between them and Banks, which could be a huge indicator that it is just a work and the company is using this to strengthen the women's tag team division. Or maybe they have something much bigger in mind.

#1 Needing a legitimate contender for Lynch

Sasha Banks versus Becky Lynch. Who wins?
Sasha Banks versus Becky Lynch. Who wins?

Let's be honest here.

WWE needs some fresh blood in the women's division after Becky Lynch defeated Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair to become a double champion, and what better person to take on that role than Sasha Banks herself?

Not only would it allow for WWE to blur the lines between Banks' real life issues with the company, but it also could become the hottest feud in the women's division heading into the summer months.

Think about it! Natalya and Lacey Evans are maybe good for a one-off each, but it's nothing that's going to sustain the women's division long term. To do that, WWE is going to need to do something unexpected, and the only real ace in the hole they have right now is Sasha Banks and the attention she is gaining from her online actions.

If nothing else, this is what The WWE needs in order to turn the division on its head and really make things interesting again. Either that, or WWE can continue to do one off after one off for a while and try to establish a worthy competitor for Lynch, but it wouldn't be same as what Banks could do with the role.
