WWE Live India 2017: 5 things to expect from the main event

Sports entertainment fans in India have reason to rejoice next week, as WWE arrives in New Delhi, for a Supershow!

While the card is stacked from top to bottom, the featured attraction of the evening is a marquee match between Jinder Mahal, a man who is proud of his Indian roots and Triple H, a legend who is stepping into a WWE ring in India, after a very long time.

This article is an attempt to get you all pumped up for the massive show as generations collide, as the hometown hero meets an iconic opponent, in an epic clash.

Here are five things you can expect when Triple H takes on Jinder Mahal in New Delhi, at WWE Live India.

#5 The grandest of homecomings

We're certain that the Maharaja's arrival will indeed be grand!

When Jinder Mahal became the WWE Champion, he celebrated his win in Punjabi style. Dancers were summoned, the colours of India were out for the world to see, and The Maharaja cut a promo, speaking to his people, in his language.

This whole show is being built around the homecoming of the "Modern Day Maharaja" to India, the land of his beloved people. Expect his arrival to be majestic, as he drops his heel persona, and adopts the persona of the local hero instead.

We wouldn't be surprised if there were festivities, pomp and splendour, to welcome Mahal to his homeland.

Expect there to be a promo in Punjabi, either before, during or after the match, based on how the event does play out. Mahal will finally address his people in their language, as the flock the stands to see him in action.

#4 A massive heel turn

It's all about the game, and he knows how to play it

Indians simply love The King of Kings, Triple H. They love him so much, that they convinced him to step back in the ring for the main event of this 'Supershow' during his visit to India. There's no way the man is getting a negative reaction from the WWE Universe.

Triple H is one of the best minds wrestling has ever known. He will do something smart to turn the crowd against him, when the match gets underway, so as to have them entirely behind The Modern Day Maharaja, Jinder Mahal. Expect to see a masterful heel turn unfold before your eyes.

In addition to being one of the best wrestlers to ever step through the ropes, Triple H is also a master of in-ring psychology. He will put together a match in such a manner that we are captivated by the word go, as the local hero battles an internationally acclaimed legend.

All said and done, this is guaranteed to be an entertaining affair.

#3 The Khallas

You cannot talk about India without mentioning Bollywood, in particular, its song and dance sequences. We don't know if this will surprise you, but the name of Jinder Mahal's finisher- 'The Khallas' is derived from a popular Bollywood song.

We had interviewed Mahal shortly after he won the WWE Championship. This is what he revealed about the name of his finisher- 'The Khallas'.

I came up with the name along with the Singh Brothers. The inspiration is actually from a Hindi movie. It’s a song called ‘Khallas’. It just means finish, so it’s fitting. And, it’s easy for our English commentators to pronounce.

The move is actually a Cobra Clutch slam, a classic manoeuvre that kept the title on Jinder Mahal's waist for very many months. Expect to see this finisher executed, when Jinder Mahal comes down to New Delhi.

Will Triple H be able to kick out of this move, that has put away Randy Orton, Shinsuke Nakamura and many others?

Certain moves have surpassed the confines of WWE alone, and gone on to become synonymous with popular culture, over time. Be it the Stone Cold Stunner, The Rockbottom, The Chokeslam or The F5, each one of these moves is a part of sports entertainment's glorious tradition.

Triple H's Pedigree is one such move. Even those who do not follow WWE ardently must have seen a visual of Triple H delivering this iconic move to his legendary opponents, who've dared to step into the ring with him. You get to watch it live when Triple H comes to New Delhi as well.

What role will the two brothers play, in the big match?

The Singh Brothers are part of Jinder Mahal's royal retinue. They announce his arrival to the ringside area, every single time. They interfere on his behalf so that the Championship stays around his waist. What role will they play in the main event of WWE Live India 2017?

This week on SmackDown Live, Jinder Mahal turned on The Singh Brothers after they failed to defeat AJ Styles in a handicap match. We wonder if they will be allied with Triple H, during this huge match. Or will they show their true colours, and side with The Maharaja, one more time?
