Montez Ford getting some air!

We have recently seen several call-ups to the main roster that have made room for new talent to shine in NXT. With the Undisputed Era holding the Tag Team Championship, classic booking would lead us to believe that some babyfaces are due for some title shots.

Montez Ford has been mixing it up in NXT as the Street Profits are working their way up the tag team division. The fans explode whenever Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins enter the room.

You know that he has smooth moves in the ring, but it's time that you got to know a little bit more about one of NXT's rising stars.

#1 He is an incredible athlete

In high school, he was a stand out athlete in track and field. Montez is now known as one of the most competitive athletes in the WWE Performance Center. He currently claims to have the greatest vertical leap and recently posted a video in which he landed a 62-inch box jump. (That's a little over 5 feet!)

#2 He is engaged to Bianca Belair

In June the only rings that these two will be focused on will be... well you get it. They are an adorable couple. It's obvious how much joy they bring each other.

Both are pushing themselves athletically and have been establishing themselves in NXT. It will be interesting to see if their stories ever cross paths on the small screen.

Congratulations to both of them in everything that lies ahead.

#3 He prides himself on his fashion

Not only does he have a great wardrobe, but like a true fashion icon, he has intention behind his choices. You may be asking, "Why does it matter if a wrestler can dress up nice?" but this is actually surprisingly relevant as we are seeing our superstars in fine attire more and more.

With events like the Hall of Fame and press appearances, it is important to have wrestlers that represent the company in a presentable way, and who knows, we recently saw Aleister Black fighting Andrade Almas in a parking lot while both of them were in suits.

Either way, Montez Ford has a cup full of Swag.

#4 He was a Marine and is a tries to be a good Role Model

Unlike the Miz and John Cena, Montez Ford actually served as a Marine from 2008-2012. He enjoys giving back to the military and local communities. He and Belair regularly speak publicly about their struggles growing up and his passion for service. He joins a long legacy of veterans in the WWE including Randy Orton, Sgt. Slaughter, Freddie Blassie, Kevin Nash and more.

#5 He started his training at the WWE Performance Center

While many different paths lead wrestlers into the squared circle, Montez made his way into the WWE through a tryout in 2015. Before that, he hadn't received any significant wrestling training or performed for any promotions.

It is important for us to pay attention to WWE's homegrown talent as it gives us our best look at what the Performance Center is teaching wrestlers. While wrestlers that have transitioned from other promotions are modifying their styles to fit into the WWE, his style is entirely manufactured by the Performance Center.

With that in mind, he has proved himself to be an incredible asset in the ring, and his charisma is magnetic. He has so much potential, and it is safe to say that a singles run is in line for him in time.
