While it's true that WrestleMania is all about moments and not necessarily match qualities, perhaps the biggest disappointment of the card was the number of average quality matches. The disappointment started off with AJ Styles vs Randy Orton, a match that was expected to be a great one.

However, it was rather underwhelming as a whole, and likely the weakest of AJ Styles' four WrestleMania matches. It could be argued that starting the PPV off with the Universal Championship set the bar too high for other matches to follow.

Moreover, having so many matches on the card itself affected it. It can be understood why many want fewer matches with higher quality. Simply put, the spacing and pacing of the matches as a whole proved to have quite a dip in quality in the matches.

Even the anticipated matches didn't necessarily live up to expectations. Luckily, WWE managed to deal with that in a good way.
