Apart from not showing up at RAW shows, Lesnar has also not appeared and defended his title at PPVs. The Beast defended the Universal title on just 6 occasions this year, which is in contrast to AJ Styles, the WWE Champion, who has defended his title 9 times this year, but wrestled 35 matches this year.

Considering RAW is the main brand on WWE, the Universal title can be considered a step higher than the WWE Championship title. Prestigious titles like the Universal title have to be defended at every PPV and the Universal champion has to appear on almost all RAW shows.
