Reigns played the babyface in peril well enough

WWE doesn't always present an episode of Monday Night Raw that delivers intriguing cliffhangers, exciting new prospects and thrilling action.

However, this week, the flagship show offered some of those factors in each of their segments which made the broadcast feel noteworthy on the Road to WrestleMania.

#1 Nia's aggression grows

A raging anger is growing inside Jax

One the best storylines in the entirety of WWE right now is the organic babyface turn of Nia Jax. And for the white-hot babyface in Jax to emerge, there must be a hated heel that is convincing, conniving and conflicting towards the babyface’s character, and Alexa Bliss is all that and more for Nia Jax.

This week, Bliss used her heelish ways to perfectly break down Jax from an emotional standpoint once again, which allows the WWE Universe to relate to Jax’s character even more.

That made Jax’s pursuit of Bliss feel satisfying as the rage she exuded added to the anticipation of this match.

#2 Ultimate Deletion

A wacky match that will have better effects on Bray Wyatt's career

When Matt Hardy was available as a singles competitor on Raw after Jeff Hardy was unfortunately injured, there was no other logical choice for a feud with Hardy than Bray Wyatt.

A Couple months later, and wrestling aficionados have grown tired of Hardy’s and Wyatt’s failing rivalry that was lacking creativity.

However, when WWE finally let Hardy lose, it resulted in a long wait for the Ultimate Deletion match, which aired this week on Raw.

While the Ulitmate Deletion match will not appeal to every wrestling fan, the comedy, bizarreness, and the fact that the Bray Wyatt character will get a reboot when he arises from the lake of reincarnation, WWE will have solved many problems with one segment.

#3 An in-depth look at Ronda Rousey

A human side to the baddest woman on the planet

Putting aside the criticism against Ronda Rousey's mic skills, charisma and questionable ability in the ring, WWE has given the WWE Universe a reason to at least stand in the corner of the former UFC fighter at WrestleMania, through an excellent video package.

WWE is known for their unique ability to put together videos hyping up their wrestlers and the work put in to relay Rousey's life was great.

From her victories to her defeats, the emotional video package would've wooed fans to root for her and help her grow into an exceptional professional wrestler.

#4 Animosity ensues

A match that deserves a proper build

Sasha Banks and Bayley are embroiled in one of the most heated narratives on Monday Night Raw. The duo’s issues with one another is seemingly increasing on a weekly basis, as betrayal, disappointment and frustration are themes heavily explored in this storyline.

This week, their dissolving bond was shoved deeper into enemy territory as the two Superstars couldn't let go of the deception done by one another in the past.

That tension boiled over in their tag team match, as their animosity cost them the match. WWE is taking the slow route with this feud, and that is a good thing as the hatred between Bayley and Banks needs to build to the point where fans don’t want to see them wrestle but destroy each other.

#5 Lesnar shows up

Lesnar's beatdown sent chills throughout the WWE Universe

WWE has been baiting the WWE Universe for many weeks now with regards to Brock Lesnar actually appearing on Raw, and every week of Lesnar’s absence hasn't made fans miss him, but surprisingly hate him even more.

WWE’s tactic with gaining heat on Lesnar has worked to some degree, and this week on Raw, Lesnar showed up to mercilessly beatdown Roman Reigns.

That beatdown accomplished the things it set out to do: giving Reigns some sympathy, painting Lesnar as the hated heel, and creating anticipation for their showdown at WrestleMania. WWE took time with this angle and it paid off.
