#3 KUSHIDA gave another newcomer a warm welcome on WWE NXT

WWE NXT showed a vignette of Trey Baxter before he made his debut. The newcomer challenged KUSHIDA for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship right away.

KUSHIDA caught Baxter with some top moves early before the newcomer made a comeback into the match. He hit a springboard handspring kick to surprise the champion.

Baxter hit a couple of more big moves to get a near-fall over the NXT Cruiserweight Champion.

KUSHIDA responded with an arm breaker and immediately rolled over his opponent to lock in the Hoverboard Lock. Baxter gave up, allowing KUSHIDA to retain his title.

After the match, Kyle O’Reilly requested a one-on-one match against KUSHIDA. The former Undisputed Era member was granted the match against the Japanese Superstar.

This was a dream debut for Baxter. KUSHIDA proved to be the perfect opponent for Baxter, allowing him to hit some top moves and stay on top during the match for some time.

The match between KUSHIDA and O’Reilly will be great, to say the least. Fans will likely look forward to this big contest next week. Hopefully Samoa Joe will stop Adam Cole from interfering in the match and ending it without a result.
