5 things you could have missed on Raw

This edition of Monday Night Raw

This week's edition of WWE Monday Night Raw came to us from San Antonio, Texas. It continued the build of major stories heading into this year's Royal Rumble, which includes the Intercontinental title match between Roman Reigns and The Miz, the first ever Women's Royal Rumble match and the Universal title match. Amidst all of this, there could have been a few parts that one might have missed out on.

#5 Chocolate Cake

Braun Strowman's rampage throughout the evening after being fired by Kurt Angle was well put together. Strowman threw off personnel over railings and lifted a production caddy truck over. However, there was a small nod to a chocolate cake, which keeps making an appearance on the show. Strowman took a slice of the cake and gingerly walked away. But not without chokeslamming Curt Hawkins through a table.

#4 Kevin Dunn

One for the more ardent fan perhaps, but when Braun was marauding into the $12m production truck, one of the teams being ushered out of the truck by Strowman was, in fact, the Head of Production and one of Vince McMahon's long standing right-hand men Kevin Dunn. Kevin is very rarely seen on screen and hasn't been caught on camera for a long time. It was exciting to spot him in this episode.

#3 Booker T's escape

Again, a Braun Strowman induced snippet. As the 'Monster Among Men' made his way over to the announce table, all three members of the announce team scrambled away to avoid being caught by Braun. Braun was always meant to grab a hold of Michael Cole, but in a hilarious moment, Booker T accidentally shoved Michael over so he fell down between the ramp and the announce ledge. You could tell from the tone of Cole's voice that this was not planned.

#2 The attack on Michael Cole

This attack in itself was easily spotted and was carried out by Braun once Kurt Angle fired the Monster for his actions on the previous episode of Raw. The reason why this made sense from a storyline perspective is the inclusion of both 'JR' Jim Ross and Jerry 'The King' Lawler as the announce team at the 25th anniversary of Raw. This was a way to get Micheal Cole off television. Tom Phillips filling in for Cole for the remainder of the show was a sign of affirmation towards the eventual move away from Cole as lead announcer and Phillips as his replacement.

#1 The Curb Stomp

Although this happened at the end of the match between Finn Balor and Seth Rollins, it blended well into the match. The gravity of what occurred was perhaps missed. Seth Rollins had to stop doing the Curb Stomp manoeuvre due to it's implied brutality and he moved from The Pedigree to the Ripcord Knee. This week's Monday Night Raw saw the move's return. However, with Corey Graves describing it as 'The Blackout'. Whether the move is now back for good or was part of a story to invoke Balor's demon persona due to an illegal move being used is unknown, so stay tuned.
