5 things you might not see in WWE 10 years from now

What
What does the future hold for WWE?

As we look toward the future into a new year it's always fun to try and predict what's to come down the line. WWE is always changing and as society has morphed, Vince McMahon and Company have seemed to roll with the punches pretty well.

But what could WWE look like in a decade from now? This is speculatory of course seeing how the batteries ran out on my time machine so it's impossible to really tell the future. But here are five things you might not see in WWE ten years from now.

#12 12-month calendar

Could WWE work with a strategic offseason?

As the toll on a Superstar's body becomes even more apparent as people learn from past generations, a scheduled calendar could be implemented. WWE might still pull off the "no off-season" aspect of the show but each Superstar could be given a specific amount of time off in order to rest up and get their bodies back in prime condition.

This kind of arrangement would not only allow a greater opportunity for more Superstars but it would also give others a chance and avoid some of the injuries that come from simple wear and tear.

#2 McMahons In Charge

Would the
Would they ever sell the company?

As WWE continues to evolve and take in, even more, property the overall value of the company continues to grow. That being said, a company with a solid fanbase and so many assets looks mighty attractive to any company looking to acquire such a property.

Therefore a decade from now, WWE could be owned by a much larger conglomerate after WWE is sold in some kind of corporate acquisition. Of course, pro wrestling could continue, but the McMahon Family might have little to do with it.

#3 Brand split

Could b
Could both shows be blended once more?

WWE went without a brand split for years after it was called off in 2011 and as the years progress the two brand concept seems to be working. But as WWE explores other ventures in programming on social media such as Mixed Match Challenge those lines between brands could be blurred to a point where fans' demands for certain matchups across brand lines could be unavoidable.

No brand split would give a chance for a lot of versatile matchups while giving others a time to take a rest because WWE has people available to fill a position on the card.

#4 Angles

What if it w
What if it was just about the competition?

The Reality Era in WWE has brought a lot of angles where the line between real and part of the show seemed to be in question. As WWE continues the idea might be in the cards to focus more on the athletes and highlighting their supreme skillsets instead of simply writing an angle to give a reason for the confrontation.

The true competitive nature of a match could become the only driving force required to have a passion-filled encounter in the ring if kayfabe angles became a thing of the past. There could still be elements of "work" in the events leading to the show but promoting each contest as something worth seeing on a more pure athletic level might bode well for WWE in the future if they wanted to take a more serious direction.

#5 TV deals

Could
What if WWE was only online?

WWE's Mixed Match Challenge is not only an exciting concept because it is the first WWE show on Facebook Watch, but it is notable for the possible implications it could represent. In the future, WWE could find themselves in a position where they aren't negotiating deals with television networks anymore.

The information superhighway could be WWE's future home as they've already seen success with their WWE Network streaming service so it's entirely possible. If they can turn the same kind of profit from advertising deals on a viral media streaming service that they do with television contracts, WWE could very well be aired entirely online in the future.
