What if it was just about the competition?

The Reality Era in WWE has brought a lot of angles where the line between real and part of the show seemed to be in question. As WWE continues the idea might be in the cards to focus more on the athletes and highlighting their supreme skillsets instead of simply writing an angle to give a reason for the confrontation.

The true competitive nature of a match could become the only driving force required to have a passion-filled encounter in the ring if kayfabe angles became a thing of the past. There could still be elements of "work" in the events leading to the show but promoting each contest as something worth seeing on a more pure athletic level might bode well for WWE in the future if they wanted to take a more serious direction.
