Becky Lynch became the first full-blooded Irish woman to win a championship in the WWE at Backlash. She’s also one of the Four Horsewomen who led the Women’s Revolution is WWE and is one of the most over babyfaces in WWE right now. And all this could have never taken place dude to a career threatening injury Becky suffered in 2006.

Becky’s wrestling career had gotten off to a great start till she faced an inexperienced Finnish wrestler called Kisu in Germany in 2006. Kisu landed badly on Becky’s head, opening up a big wound and doctors thought that she could have brain damage. She was eventually diagnosed with damage to her eighth cranial nerve which left her out of action for almost a year.

Becky had serious side effects from the injury and suffered from headaches, vision problems and had a buzzing in her ear for months after the injury. The injury caused Becky to consider her future in wrestling and she no-showed at her scheduled return in 2008, stating that she had other priorities and didn’t return to action for almost five years.
