5 Things you need to know about Doc Gallows

Doc Gallows has finally arrived to WWE, or not.

The Bullet Club are one of the most popular factions in modern wrestling and they helped put New Japan Pro Wrestling on the map for many non-Japanese fans. When Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson signed with WWE earlier this year many speculated that The Bullet Club might finally be coming to WWE.

With Anderson and Gallows finally debuting on Raw last week, here are 5 things you need to know about Doc Gallows:

5: He made his WWE debut as “Impostor Kane’

On May 29, 2006 Gallows’ debuted on Raw as the ‘impostor Kane’ dressed in Kane’s old mask and ring attire and interrupted Kane’s Intercontinental Championship match Shelton Benjamin, costing Kane the match. Over the next few weeks, the ‘impostor Kane’ continued to attack the real Kane during and after the latter's matches.

The two Kane’s finally met at WWE Vengeance where the impostor Kane defeated the original with Kane’s trademark choke slam. The storyline was shelved later the next night when the original Kane attacked the Impostor Kane, removed his mask, and threw him out of the building.

4: He was trained by Bill DeMott

Following ‘impostor Kane’ being written out of storyline, Gallows returned to WWE’s former developmental system at Deep South Wrestling where he was further trained by the now disgraced, Bill DeMott. DeMott resigned from WWE on March 6, 2015 following accusations of abuse and misconduct by several ex-trainees. Allegation that DeMott has denied.

However, one story that has circulated from DeMott and Gallows’ time at DSW is appalling. In 2015, former WWE trainee Devon Nicholson described an incident from 2006 in which then DSW head trainer DeMott and Gallows were involved in. Nicholson described the incident where Gallows was completely naked in the ring for a long period of time and gave naked stinkfaces to Zack Ryder and Melissa Coates. DeMott reportedly held jelly donuts over their faces during the incident.

3: He’s married to fellow wrestler, Amber O’ Neal

Doc Gallows is married to former TNA and NJPW star, the “Bullet Babe’ Amber O’ Neal who is the current NWA World Women’s Champion. O’ Neal made her NJPW debut at Wrestle Kingdom 9, accompanying Gallows and Karl Anderson to the ring.

With Gallows now in the WWE fold, could we see the Bullet Babe in WWE soon? Its far-fetched but a possibility.

2: He is a former Member of CM Punk’s Straight Edge Society

In 2009, Gallows accompanied CM Punk to the ring during his match against Matt Hardy and Punk later revealed that he’d reclaimed Festus (Gallows’ former persona) from his demons and he’d been reborn as Luke Gallows.

The Straight Edge Society grew into a militant organization denouncing all people who don't live the straight edge lifestyle, even those who abstain from substance abuse.

1: He’s wrestled in India before as part of TNA’s Ring Ka King

Doc Gallows has wrestled in India before as part of TNA’s Ring Ka King under the name “The Outlaw" Isaiah Cash. TNA announced Ring Ka King as its big project in India under the management of Jeff Jarrett, however the show was canceled after just one season. Gallows’ career in Ring Ka King was as forgettable as the promotion itself.

On an interesting side note, Harbhajan Singh appeared as sort of an on-screen promoter for the event. I don’t know what his exact role was, but he was a part of the promotion at some capacity.
