In one of the most lacklustre WrestleMania matches of all time, Goldberg handed Brock Lesnar his first clean pinfall loss at Wrestlemania 24. However, the crowd did not care for either of the men as they were set to depart from the company after the event. Neither of the men did anything to impress the crowd as well.

Lesnar cost Goldberg the Royal Rumble match after F5-ing him midway into the match (though Lesnar was not a participant). This interference irritated Goldberg, who in turn cost Lesnar his WWE title to Eddie Guerrero. Even the build as intriguing as it was didn't help the match from falling flat. Goldberg put Lesnar down with a Jackhammer for the win.

Stone Cold hitting both the competitors with the Stunner after the match was the only high point of the entire segment. We would not see Lesnar in a WWE ring for eight years after that.
