After his hiatus from WWE, Lesnar became a UFC heavyweight champion, making him a mainstream attraction. Therefore, Vince McMahon spent a huge amount to convince 'The Beast Incarnate' to return to WWE.

Lesnar interrupted a John Cena segment on the RAW after Wrestlemania 28, to a huge ovation from the crowd. Lesnar and Cena entered into a rivalry - setting up their match at Extreme Rules 2012.

However, for some reason, WWE decided to give Cena the win over a returning Lesnar. Cena hit Lesnar with a chain, put him down with an Attitude Adjustment onto a steel step for the win.
