Roman Reigns had clean victories over The Undertaker, John Cena, Randy Orton, Triple H and almost all other top superstars in WWE. Hence it was only a matter of time before he slew Lesnar. Even though it was planned for Roman to beat Lesnar at Wrestlemania 31, the crowd reaction allegedly postponed this crowning moment for three and a half years.

At Summerslam 2018, Reigns finally defeated Brock Lesnar to capture his maiden Universal title. Even though Braun Strowman was at ringside and Lesnar was distracted by the monster, it should be noted that Lesnar attacked Braun without any provocations. After laying waste to Braun, Lesnar was greeted with a surprise spear for the 3-count.
