5 Times non-wrestlers have held a championship.

<p>

Sometimes the most unlikely people end up wearing the gold.

The road to becoming a champion in professional wrestling is long and arduous. Just ask Sting, who in spite of being wildly popular with NWA crowds was made to wait years for his first title reign.

Or you could ask Eddie Guerrero, who wrestled over twenty years before he was given a shot with one of the 'big belts.'

Or, just maybe, you could be at the right place at exactly the right time, and become a world wrestling champion! Here are five people who did just that.

#5. Adam 'Pacman' Jones--TNA World tag team champion

<p>

Many times, a non-wrestler will still at least have to, well, wrestle, in order to win a title. Even if they're not trained wrestlers, they can still take a bump or two, right?

Not if they're suspended NFL star, Pacman Jones. Jones signed to wrestling with TNA, but due to a court conflict was forbidden from actually making contact with any of the wrestlers.

Not only did TNA still put Pacman on cards, they booked him to win the world tag team titles, in spite of not being able to so much as high five another wrestler. He mostly threw footballs at his opponents. Thankfully, this travesty didn't last long.

#4. Vince Russo--WCW World heavyweight championship

<p>

In a despicable booking decision, overrated pro wrestling creative director Vince Russo decided to award himself the WCW world heavyweight championship, a belt made famous by men like Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat, the Great Muta, and Harley Race.

After getting speared out of a cage, Russo technically 'exited' the structure first and won the championship. The ludicrous angle was dropped almost as soon as it began, to the betterment of all.

#3. Nicholas becomes tag team champion

<p>

Many children of all ages dream of the chance to be a pro wrestling champion, but few ever actually get the chance.

That's why it was such a shocker when Braun Strowman picked a young boy from the crowd to be his Wrestlemania partner against the Bar. Young Nicholas now has a WrestleMania victory and title reign. How's that for a start to your career?

#2. Judy Bagwell--WCW Tag team champion

<p>

One of the more cringe-worthy moments of WCW's dying days was this debacle, which featured Buff Bagwell's mom Judy becoming one-half of the tag team champions.

If you think this is bad, maybe you should check out the Judy Bagwell on a Pole match. On second thought, maybe you shouldn't.

#1.David Arquette--WCW World Heavyweight champion

<p>

There are as many theories as to what led to WCW's demise as there are stars in the night sky. Perhaps it was hackneyed booking, or Vince Russo's influence, or the fact that older marquee stars like Hulk Hogan refused to share the spotlight.

While many may argue about what led to the wrestling promotion's downfall, most can agree on its absolute lowest point; David Arquette, a C-list actor, winning the WCW world heavyweight championship.

For a man of such low esteem to hold a title, and for a poorly conceived marketing plan designed to make a low budget movie about wrestling seem appealing, was as low as WCW would ever sink. Not even the Viagra on a pole match could compete with this travesty.
