Braun Strowman could have faced The Deadman at WrestleMania 32
Anyone who remembers WrestleMania 32 will recall that Shane McMahon took on The Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match that would have won him control of the company, but he lost the match to The Deadman and was later given the job of Commissioner of SmackDown Live anyway.

The reason why this made no sense was perhaps because according to The Inquisitr the original plan was for The Deadman to go one on one with the relatively unknown Braun Strowman, just a year after he had been able to defeat Bray Wyatt on The Grandest Stage of Them All.
Strowman wasn't a monster at this point and the WWE Universe had its reservations about putting him in such a big match so soon, so the company changed it and instead a match was made that was completely pointless in the grand scheme of things.
