Just before the Attitude Era came into full swing, WWE present their 9th installment of the In Your House pay-per-view series, Beware of Dog. The event took place in Florence, South Carolina, but sadly the event was largely affected by a thunderstorm passing through the city.

The thunderstorm was so severe that all the power went out in the Florence Civic Center during the event airing live on pay-per-view.

The pay-per-view ultimately ended after two matches, but the event continued inside the venue, turning into somewhat of a house show.

Eventually, WWE rescheduled the pay-per-view and the first two matches recorded in Florence were once again shown before leading into the newly recorded matches filmed in North Charleston.

WWE's ultimate event, WrestleMania, returned with live fans in attendance at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay.

A whole year of fans not being able to attend WWE events due to the Covid-19 global pandemic had preceded the show. A celebration for the ages for the 25,000 fans attending each night of the two-night WrestleMania was expected.

Sadly, it didn't get off to the start the WWE had hoped for. A thunderstorm immediately passed over Raymond James Stadium as the show began which resulted in the show being paused for around 45 minutes.

WWE made their best effort to keep the show going with impromptu backstage interviews being conducted to pass the time, whilst the thunderstorm passed. Fans in attendance left their seats and went onto the concourse for safety due to lightning fears.

Eventually, the storm passed, and WrestleMania went ahead without any further incidents.

Flights Cancelled For A Second Day As Ash Cloud Moves East

WWE RAW Superstars were wrapping up their annual post-WrestleMania European tour in 2010 before disaster struck and shut down airspace.

A volcano named Eyjafjallajökull erupted, which caused the largest airspace closure over Europe since World War Two. The volcano created a large ash cloud, which can damage plane engines. This meant that no planes were allowed to take-off, leaving millions stranded.

Unfortunately, the Monday Night RAW superstars were stranded in Belfast with no way of returning to the United States for RAW that Monday. Thankfully, the SmackDown roster made it back from Europe before the eruption and were able to take the RAW roster's place.

The show was renamed Monday Night SmackDown and featured celebrities Will Forte, Kristen Wiig and Ryan Phillippe, who starred in MacGruber.
