Several WWE Superstars have had emotional reactions following their matches

The vast majority of wrestlers work to learn their craft for years before they're able to garner the attention of WWE. For many of them, signing for the company allows them to live out their dream.

WWE is the biggest wrestling company and it's not often that the opportunity to set records or make history comes up. This can present a huge moment for the careers of the Superstars that are involved and can lead to quite an emotional reactional reaction both on and off-screen.

Many stars have broken down in the ring following a huge match, a surprise Championship victory, or have even gone on to share their feelings on social media where they have a much more open forum.

That being said, the following list looks at just five times WWE Superstars have broken down backstage following a match.

#5. Bianca Belair breaks down after creating history at WWE WrestleMania 37

Heading into WrestleMania 37, Bianca Belair had failed to lift a Championship in her short WWE career.

In one fell swoop, the EST of WWE was able to become part of the first women's singles WrestleMania headline match and lift the SmackDown Women's Championship.

Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks easily stole the show on night one of WrestleMania and when the new Women's Champion walked through the curtain and embraced her husband and fellow WWE Superstar Montez Ford, it evoked quite the reaction.

Belair's reaction to making history and winning her first championship in WWE was shared on the company's Instagram account following the show so the WWE Universe could see just how much this moment meant to her.

Before Belair headed backstage, her husband was allowed to come out to the ring to celebrate the victory with her, whilst her opponent Sasha Banks broke character whilst on the floor outside the ring.

Whilst not seen as part of the WrestleMania show that aired live on the WWE Network, Banks was seen by fans at ThunderDome smiling about the fact that Belair had been able to lift the Women's Championship for the first time.

Banks had also created history as the youngest female to the main event, WrestleMania, so The Boss definitely had a lot to smile about that night despite losing her Women's Championship.

Earlier in the year, Belair and Ford shared an emotional moment backstage following The EST's Royal Rumble victory.

#4. Alexa Bliss breaks down on Talking Smack after winning her first WWE SmackDown Women's Championship

Alexa Bliss is one of WWE's biggest female stars at the moment, but during her time in NXT, she wasn't seen as a legitimate challenger in the Women's Division.

Bliss was instead used as a manager for Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy, before finally being given her chance to make her mark when she was promoted to the main roster back in 2016.

Bliss stepped up her game and has since become one of the best female wrestlers on the roster, winning numerous championships en-route to her current position.

Coming from a gymnastics background with no wrestling experience, her first Championship win obviously meant a lot to Bliss, who went on to break down on Talking Smack following the show.

Alexa Bliss was just the second woman in WWE to lift the SmackDown Women's Championship after she was able to defeat Becky Lynch in a Tables match at TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs back in 2016.

Bliss has since gone on to become a two-time SmackDown Women's Champion and three-time RAW Women's Champion in her short career.

#3. Brock Lesnar breaks down following his victory over The Undertaker at WWE WrestleMania 30

Brock Lesnar is one of the most recognizable WWE superstars of the current generation, a feat that was achieved after Lesnar ended The Undertaker's undefeated streak at WrestleMania.

It was one of the biggest shocks in the history of the company and led to Lesnar himself breaking down backstage after he finally walked through the curtain.

Lesnar headed back first and allowed The Deadman to take in the reaction of the WWE Universe following his loss, before slowly making his way up the ramp. This allowed Lesnar to head backstage and watch The Undertaker's reaction where he was visibly upset.

Many of the reports following the match surrounded The Undertaker and the fact that The Deadman wasn't in good health at the end of the match and had to be taken to hospital. This obviously overshadowed Lesnar's emotional reaction and the fact that this was a huge moment in his career and put his name in the history books forever.

#2. Rhea Ripley cried after she won the RAW Women's Championship at WWE WrestleMania 37

Rhea Ripley has climbed through the ranks in WWE and finally lifted her first main roster Championship back at WrestleMania 37.

The 24-year-old defeated Asuka as part of the show and made history when she became the first woman to lift the NXT Women's, NXT UK, and RAW Women's Championships in WWE.

This was obviously an emotional moment for Ripley, who told TV Insider that she told herself not to cry as she walked back through the curtain, but was obviously overwhelmed.

“It was crazy walking through the curtain and seeing the crowd and how excited they were. All my dreams were coming true. It was something I worked toward for a long time. I was trying to hold it all together, telling myself, ‘Don’t cry.’
“Then I looked over to Edge near me, and he had tears in his eyes. He nodded at me and winked. I just lost it. I could not hold it together. Then I saw this fan in the front saying, ‘Hey Rhea! You got this. You’re going to kill it’ — giving me this pep talk. Next thing I know, I’m being shown on the big screen.”

WWE Hall of Famer Edge had quite a big night of his own since he later went on to main event the show, but wasn't able to lift the Universal Championship when he was defeated by Roman Reigns.

#1. Roman Reigns has an emotional reaction to many of his WWE WrestleMania matches

WrestleMania has always been an emotional place for Roman Reigns throughout his WWE career.

The former World Champion was obviously overcome with emotion following his first WrestleMania main event where he came up short against Brock Lesnar thanks to the addition of Seth Rollins.

Reigns was later emotional after he was able to defeat Triple H to become World Champion for the first time the following year at WrestleMania 32.

WrestleMania 33 saw one of Reigns most emotional reactions when he was able to defeat The Undertaker and it was believed that this was then the end of The Deadman's career.

The end of the match saw The Undertaker walk away and leave his attire in the ring, but he later returned before his retirement last year.

The former WWE Champion then had an emotional reaction to his match with Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 35 after making his return to the company following his leukemia battle. Reigns was able to defeat McIntyre in his first singles match since his return.
