2018 has been a very unique year for the WWE, to say the least.

The company's stock has reached record highs, thanks in parts to deals such as the one to host SmackDown on FOX Sports, starting October next year.

Stock in WWE is very high right now, despite the controversial ten-year deal with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which saw the company widely criticized by the media and politicians.

And in between all of this, there have been shocking title reigns and changes in WWE, which have entertained and enraged fans over the past 12 months.

Now with 2018 drawing to a close, the WWE Universe looks to 2019, hoping to have some historic wins that will make next year one to remember for years to come.

Here are five titles changes in WWE that must happen at some point in 2019.

#5 Asuka becomes SmackDown Live Women's Champion

It's been years since the Empress held gold in the WWE.
It's been years since the Empress held gold in the WWE.

When Asuka won the first-ever women's Royal Rumble in January, things were looking good for the Empress.

Undefeated since her 2015 debut, Asuka chose to challenge then-Women's Champion Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania, with the Queen making history by becoming the first Superstar to defeat Asuka.

Since then, Asuka has plummeted down the company's totem pole, losing in a feud against Carmella, and only returning to the title picture a few weeks ago.

Now, Asuka has the chance to finally win the title as part of the upcoming first-ever Women's TLC match against Flair and reigning champion Becky Lynch.

Should she fail though, the Japanese sensation needs to win the title in 2019, if nothing else, to prove that she is still the same killer who dominated the NXT Women's division for over 500 days.

#4 The Revival becomes Raw Tag Team Champions

Can you think of a team that has come to the main roster with more buzz, only to be dropped so quickly, more than the Revival?

After dominating in NXT, the duo of Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder moved to Monday Night Raw the night after WrestleMania 33, only to truly be given nothing in their near 2-year tenure.

Winning the Raw Tag Team Championships in 2019 would not only be a big win for the team but really, a necessary one, as if the pair don't do something soon, they may be future endeavored at some point next year.

To be fair, some fans would be pleased to see the pair go, arguing that they would fare far better and be much more prominent on the indie scene.

#3 Rey Mysterio becomes United States Champion

Mysterio could upset the founder of Nak-America to become a Grand Slam Champion.
Mysterio could upset the founder of Nak-America to become a Grand Slam Champion.

Rey Mysterio already has a Hall of Fame worthy career, being a former WWE, World Heavyweight, Cruiserweight, Tag Team and Intercontinental Champion.

But in 2019, the master of the 619 has the chance to finally capture the Grand Slam, if he became United States Champion.

Winning the star-spangled strap would be the cherry on the cake for Mysterio, who returned at SmackDown 1000 and has been impressive since.

In addition, having him feud with current champion Shinsuke Nakamura would make for some truly excellent viewing, as the pair's similar, but contrasting styles would certainly mesh well.

We don't know how long Mysterio will stay with the WWE now that he is back, but having him win a title would only add to the masked man's truly incredible career in the WWE.

#2 The Miz becomes WWE Champion

For almost his entire WWE career, The Miz has been one of the most natural, cockiest heels around, with his smug face and safe style making him an easily hated Superstar.

But with the recent heel turn of Daniel Bryan, as well as the hinted turn of Shane McMahon at Crown Jewel, the A-Lister could become the next big babyface of team Blue.

A face Miz has been done once before, very poorly in early 2013, so hopefully, the company will have learned from their past mistakes in 2019.

Having the Reality show star win the WWE Championship would be the icing on the cake, as his last reign, whilst entertaining, came to an abrupt end over seven years ago.

Whether fans could boo Bryan and cheer Miz at the same time though, remains to be seen.

#1 Braun Strowman becomes Universal Champion

Will Strowman finally dethrone the Beast Brock Lesnar in 2019?
Will Strowman finally dethrone the Beast Brock Lesnar in 2019?

Ever since breaking away from the Wyatt family, Braun Strowman has been pushed to the moon, receiving multiple shots at the WWE Universal Championship.

But despite this, Strowman is yet to win the big one in WWE, with his most recent shot being robbed from him by 'Constable' Baron Corbin at Crown Jewel.

With the title now back on Brock Lesnar, title shots will be few and far between, with Lesnar's schedule allowing him to go for months on end without appearing on WWE TV.

Having Strowman dethrone the beast in 2019 would be a monumental moment for the Monster Among Men, as well as all those who grew tired of Lesnar's stranglehold on the title during his 504-day reign, and are equally as unimpressed now the Beast has the most coveted prize in WWE, again.
