5 top superstars who have no plans at Wrestlemania 35

Who has WWE wasted this time?
Who has WWE wasted this time?

Wrestlemania is the time of the year when the biggest matches and the most popular wrestlers are on the greatest stage in professional wrestling, as this year's match card promises to bring all the spectacle you would expect on the pay-per-view.

From dream matches fans never thought that they would witness to high stakes championship matches that could change the landscape of WWE, this Wrestlemania guarantees a thrilling ride for wrestling fans.

However, not everything is sunshine and rainbows with regards to Wrestlemania this year, as there are many matches on the show that fans feel don't warrant a place on the biggest platform in wrestling, and where there are unwanted matches, there are a plethora of wrestlers that should have been in that position.

Let us go through a list of high profile names of wrestlers that should have been given more significance at Wrestlemania, but are not.

#1 The Hardys

How do these legends land up on the pre-show?
How do these legends land up on the pre-show?

When Matt and Jeff Hardy returned at Wrestlemania 33, fans in the Camping World Stadium lost their minds, as this was the first we saw The Hardys inside a WWE ring in almost a decade and the WWE Universe was sure that the creative team was going to put Team Extreme on a pedestal.

However, things didn't go how fans had thought it would, as Matt and Jeff wandered from feud to feud during the first year of their return, but most felt that their booking situation would improve once WWE sent them both to different brands. And this saw Jeff thrive on Smackdown Live, while Matt faded into obscurity on Raw as his partnership with Bray Wyatt flopped harder than anyone could have imagined.

So now in 2019, The Hardys have reunited on Smackdown Live, and instead of WWE using them to elevate a younger tag team, the creative team has relegated them to the pre-show battle royal. This is shocking, as The Hardy Boys are legends of the industry, and it is a total waste of their time to be on the pre-show.

#3 Braun Strowman

A failed prospect.
A failed prospect.

Braun Strowman is competing in Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal for the second time in three years, and that is a clear indication of how far up the ladder the WWE creative team would take Strowman.

Just over a year ago, Braun was competing for the World Title on a regular basis, even though he was coming out of each match unsuccessful, as WWE still couldn't put their faith in the big man to hold the World Title and carry Raw on his back, at least he was in the main event.

As Strowman has fallen off his mountain since his peak in 2017, but that doesn't mean Strowman has to be feuding with comedians at the biggest show in wrestling. Only when WWE has plans to make Strowman a truly threatening force in the company, then only will his career take off.

#4 Kevin Owens

WWE needs to let Owens loose once again.
WWE needs to let Owens loose once again.

When Kevin Owens returned on Smackdown Live to replace Kofi Kingston in the WWE Title match in the Fastlane pay-per-view, many thought that WWE was finally going to use Owens in a logical manner that would have seen him reach unprecedented heights in the WWE.

But we were all mistaken as Owens returned as a mere speed bump in Kofi Kingston's journey to Wrestlemania, and that was a decision WWE should regret making, as Owens is back in his 2018 slump.

Going into Wrestlemania WWE should have made it a priority to get their biggest stars on the match card, as Wrestlemania is a special pay-per-view that needs the company's stars competing in high profile matches on the show, but when stars like Owens are left off the match card entirely it decreases the value of the event.

#4 Dean Ambrose

No more Dean.
No more Dean.

Dean Ambrose might be on his way out of WWE, as the company themselves announced a few months ago that the former WWE Champion has not renewed his contract with the company, and therefore will be leaving after his contract expires in April.

For many months, fans really believed that this was a work by the company, as Dean Ambrose is one of the biggest stars in WWE at the moment, so WWE letting him go makes little sense, but it seems like that is the case. At Wrestlemania, we might not see Dean Ambrose compete, as it seems like WWE doesn't even have a farewell match planned for the lunatic fringe.

#5 Asuka

Asuka is being wasted.
Asuka is being wasted.

Asuka is facing the same fate as many other superstars on this list, as she is being booked on the pre-show battle royal. And while this isn't such a bad thing for many other superstars that are competing in these battle royals, Asuka was the Smackdown Live Women's Champion just a few weeks ago and now she is doing nothing in a meaningless match.

Asuka should be in the main event mix battling the likes of Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch, as many feel WWE has wasted a huge opportunity in excluding Asuka from the Women's Title feud. While it will be great to see the former champion make a mark in this match, that seems unlikely as Asuka is stuck on the pre-show.
