5 top superstars who competed at WrestleMania 34 but don’t have a WrestleMania 35 match

Which superstar will lose out on WrestleMania this year?

WrestleMania 34 was a star-studded event which saw Ronda Rousey’s in-ring debut and Braun Strowman win his first main roster championship.

While many top superstars competed in matches at the event, with Brock Lesnar, AJ Styles, and The Bludgeon Brothers (Harper and Rowan) among others emerging as victors, a few superstars had great non-title matches too.

Now with WrestleMania 35 only a month away, we can’t wait to see how the card for the event shapes up and how many of our favorite superstars will get a match for the event.

Keeping that in mind, there are a number of superstars who had top matches at the WrestleMania 34 event, but are currently not in any storyline which guarantees a match at WrestleMania 35.

Let’s take a look at 5 such top superstars who might not get a chance to compete at The Grandest Stage of Them All.

#5 Alexa Bliss

At WrestleMania 34, Alexa Bliss walked into the event as the Raw Women’s Champion and defended the title against Nia Jax.

Jax managed to overcome the heel champion and picked up her first Women’s Championship of her career.

Since then, Bliss has gotten injured and then returned but has found herself in managerial roles and working talk shows more than anything else.

While Bliss was never the best in-ring performer, she was still a star attraction and that’s the reason WWE gave her a push. It’s unfortunate that Little Miss Bliss will not be competing at this year’s WrestleMania as she has another role to manage at the event.

She has gotten the chance to host the event this year which is a huge honor for the superstar as she has gotten into a new opportunity in her WWE career.

#4 Mustafa Ali

In just a year, Mustafa Ali has received a great push, especially for someone from 205 Live. He went from being a contender for the Cruiserweight Championship on 205 Live to a contender for the WWE Championship on SmackDown Live.

All this has been a result of his hard work and persistence which has caught the eye of Vince McMahon, and he has gotten more chances on SmackDown than many other deserving veteran superstars.

Last year, Ali battled longtime friend Cedric Alexander in an epic match for the vacant Cruiserweight Championship which was ultimately won by Cedric Alexander.

This year, Ali does not have any match set for the event yet, and Kevin Owens seems to be his only potential opponent for the event if things do progress to that.

Both men competed together in a triple-threat match against Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship at Fastlane.

However, it seems unlikely that he will receive a single’s match for the event as many other superstars are already in line for a WrestleMania match.

#3 Jinder Mahal

Mustafa Ali received the biggest push between WrestleMania 34 and 35, while Jinder Mahal has seen the greatest fall in that period.

He makes the list as he competed in a fatal four-way match at WrestleMania 34 for the United States Championship. Jinder Mahal defeated the champion Randy Orton, Bobby Roode, and Rusev to lift the United States Championship.

However, since then, Mahal has seen a big fall in his value and is working as an enhancement talent on the main roster.

Therefore, it is highly unlikely that The Modern Day Maharaja will get a match for the event as the high profile event mainly deals in high performing superstars.

If anything, expect Mahal to be a part of the 30-man André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal if the match does take place. Other than that, there is no chance Mahal will be a getting a high-profile match this time around.

#2 Kevin Owens

The Prizefighter has returned after a hiatus due to injury and has instantly seen his stock rise on the blue brand after exiting the red brand.

Kevin Owens has returned from injury and was immediately granted a match against WWE Champion Daniel Bryan at Fastlane which included Mustafa Ali.

At last year’s event, Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon defeated Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in a tag team match, and both men were fired from SmackDown.

His return on SmackDown has opened new opportunities for him, but it seems like another match for the WWE Championship is off the cards now for the former Universal Champion since Kofi Kingston will most probably get that spot.

Unless there’s a match between Mustafa Ali and KO scheduled to take place, there is little chance that Owens will get a match other than being a part of the 30-man André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

#1 Braun Strowman

Raw’s fastest rising star was shot down by himself as he failed to perform in the ring and take responsibility backstage.

After WrestleMania 34, only a few would have doubted that Strowman would be walking into WrestleMania 35 as the Universal Champion. However, it seems all but likely that Strowman would be walking into the event without a match at all.

Last year, Strowman teamed up with 10-year-old Nicholas to defeat The Bar and win the Raw Tag Team Championship.

After that, Strowman was on the right road, and most believed that he would win the Universal Championship at Crown Jewel. Fans were disappointed as he lost his match for the title and then fell down the card due to his own antics.

Currently, it seems like Strowman will only have a few silly segments to play out at the event and not have a match at all. This is extremely saddening for a superstar who had most of the WWE Universe behind him not too long ago.
