Maybe HHH realises that his wife is getting far too toxic for the day to day operations of the company, and as a collective, they decide to turn on daddy's little girl. Some people may feel that it's something that's been overdone over the years, but it's an effective story to tell and Stephanie is the perfect heel for the situation.
The pop when Triple H reveals that he isn't out there to help Stephanie but is instead there to help get rid of her would be priceless. She'd be backed into a corner, which is a position she's not even remotely used to being in, and it allows the story to come full circle. That's the problem with The Authority angle - it just seems like it's never truly ended.
We move onto a man who deserves a little bit of retribution.
