It is clear which promotion Brock Lesnar prefers right now
While the Universal Champion hadn't shown up in WWE for many weeks on end at that time; Lesnar appeared at UFC 226 and even had an altercation with the winner of the Stipe Miocic vs. Daniel Cormier fight. It is clear that Lesnar and Cormier are headed for a scuffle down the road. But the appearance at the UFC proved to fans that Lesnar doesn't care about WWE at all!

There is an unsaid rivalry between wrestling and MMA fans. By favouring one promotion over the other, Lesnar turned his back on sports entertainment fans. And therefore, fans began to cheer for the alternative- The Big Dog.
