MITB could be just the time and place for that to happen. For example, Sami Zayn interferes on behalf of Owens after losing to Bobby Lashley earlier in the night. Zayn fights off all the other competitors and then turns on Owens with a low blow or a cheap shot.
The next night on Raw, Zayn could explain his actions by saying KO was never a good friend to him and now he wants his revenge by treating KO the way KO treated him. It definitely makes sense and would be great storytelling from a creative perspective.
