Mysterio was the Number 27th entrant in the Royal Rumble. The WWE Universe exploded as the legend returned home, looking better than ever. Jaws dropped and tears were shed upon his arrival.

Daniel Bryan addressed the state of the Cruiserweight Division and stipulated that 205 Live would have its own General Manager, going forward. This General Manager would address the state of the Cruiserweight division. Who better for this role than Rey Mysterio?
There's nobody who defines Cruiserweight Wrestling better than Rey Mysterio does. After all, he did pave the way right from WCW's Cruiserweight Division, all the way to the top of WWE's uppermost echelon, through the course of his prolific career.
Mysterio's star power would attract a lot of eyeballs. Much like Kurt Angle, he could wrestle only on special occasions, and still be a draw for long-time fans. Mysterio's appeal transcends several generations. There would be no better choice for General Manager than he is.
#4 205 Live's Top Star
There's no Neville in 205 Live anymore. There's no Enzo Amore either anymore. Neither is Austin Aries a part of the WWE Cruiserweight Division. WWE needs a big star to be the face of the purple brand.
Enter Rey Mysterio. Alongside NXT's newest recruit Ricochet, Mysterio could help in building the division back, right from the ground up. He has the star power, he has the ability and he has the presence to be 205 Live's face.
In fact, think of all the matches that he could have with the current generation of stars. Many of them have possibly looked up to Rey Mysterio and would be honoured with a chance to work with the man!
Remember the excitement that existed at the time of the Cruiserweight Classic? With Rey Mysterio at the helm, it could all come back again. Mysterio can fill the void left by Amore's departure. And ladies and gentlemen, you certainly can't teach that...
#3 Kurt Angle's WrestleMania opponent
After all the excitement of the Royal Rumble, we can say that the road to WrestleMania 34 is officially underway. Kurt Angle needs an opponent for the showcase of the immortals, doesn't he? As does Rey Mysterio. Voila...problem solved, right?
These two rivals could have a modern-day classic when WrestleMania comes around. It would certainly be more exciting than an Angle-Jordan match, in our honest opinion. Remember their clash from SummerSlam 2002, when they stole the show?

#2 Participant in Elimination Chamber
Before the men and women of RAW can square off on the grandest stage of them all, there's the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. We believe that Mysterio has the star power and credibility to be one of the participants, with the new generation of stars.
Because of injuries sustained by stars such as Jason Jordan, Big Cass and Samoa Joe, WWE will need big names to be part of the Elimination Chamber match. Mysterio could definitely step up. If anything, it will be interesting to see how he adapts his high flying style within the confines of the Elimination Chamber.
We know that this is a decision that the WWE Universe will certainly welcome with open arms. It'll certainly be great to see Rey Mysterio mix it up with the current crop of stars.
#1 The Miz's WrestleMania 34 opponent
Yes, these two men have faced each other in the past. But so many years down the line, this is a fresh feud once again, in our opinion. Rey Mysterio is a world-travelled veteran. The Miz is an A-List superstar on RAW who holds the Intercontinental Championship.
Now, this is a feud that can bring prestige like never before to this secondary title. It's also a feud worthy of The Miz, who's been nothing short of exemplary for the RAW brand. Mysterio can have The Miz go over him in a match, and pass on the torch to him.
