5 ways to make Braun Strowman the biggest star in WWE

Since debuting as a single’s star on Raw after the 2016 brand split, Braun Strowman has grown into one of the most popular wrestlers in WWE.

He beat up Roman Reigns for our enjoyment, put Kalisto in a bin and destroyed jobbers. Strowman even emerged out of a garbage truck recently on Raw like some kind of monster.

Braun is rapidly becoming one of the most popular characters in WWE today and now that WWE looks to be pushing him as a babyface, they have a real chance to make him the biggest star in WWE. Here is how they can do it.

#5 Retire Kurt Angle

Braun should retire Kurt Angle

After returning at TLC earlier this year, and now set to captain Team RAW at Survivor Series, Kurt Angle looks to be getting one last big run before he retires from WWE as an in-ring competitor.

Given the star Angle is, whoever retires him will certainly get a big rub from it. So, while Triple H has been floated around as the man to retire Angle, WWE would be better suited using Angle’s retirement to elevate a younger, less established star.

And of course, Strowman would be perfect for that role. He is still a rising star who doesn’t quite have the CV needed to be "The Guy" of WWE. But if he is the man to retire a legend like Kurt Angle, he would certainly establish himself as a star.

#4 Capture the Universal Title from Brock Lesnar

This next point coincides with the previous one. If Strowman were to win this year’s rumble he would likely be facing Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. Lesnar is one of few true stars still wrestling in WWE today, and he hardly ever loses and is considered by the majority of fans as the biggest star in WWE.

In fact, over the past three years, Lesnar has only been pinned by Goldberg, who doesn’t even wrestle anymore.

Since returning to WWE, Lesnar has pinned every major star, including The Undertaker, John Cena, Seth Rollins and Goldberg. There are also rumours that Lesnar will leave WWE after next year’s Mania to return to UFC.

So, if Strowman were, in fact, to beat Brock Lesnar at Mania for the title and maybe even retire Brock from WWE, it would definitely make Strowman the biggest up and coming star in WWE today. This will also give Strowman the right to call himself the new ‘beast’ of WWE.

#3 Make him the longest reigning WWE Champion this century

In the past 38 years of the WWE, nobody has held the title longer than CM Punk. Punk held the WWE Championship for a total of 435 days before losing it to The Rock. CM Punk’s title reign was a fantastic one.

However, as Punk is on bad terms with WWE it is very unlikely that they will want you to remember that he has held the title for the longest time this century.

Given the acrimonious fashion in which the WWE and Punk parted ways, the WWE will at one point want to make sure Punk is not the longest reigning WWE Champion this century. This gives them the perfect opportunity to make a new star to beat Punk’s reign. One man WWE should let break the record is Strowman.

Strowman certainly has the credentials and physical stature to be Champion for that long and if he is given the honour of doing so, he would have to be talked about as one of WWE’s biggest stars this century.

#2 Have him win and dominate the Royal Rumble

The next Royal Rumble winner?

We are now in November which means that the 2018 Royal Rumble is just around the corner. In recent years, the 'Rumble' has left many fans either upset or not caring about the winners, including Randy Orton and Roman Reigns.

However, Strowman is over with the WWE Universe and if he were to win the 'Rumble', most fans would actually be pleased. It would go some way to cementing Strowman as a top guy, because only top guys win the Royal Rumble.

Furthermore, in the Rumble, Strowman should enter early, maybe from one, and then decimate everyone he comes in to contact with until he is victorious. This would show casual fans that Braun is a real top star in WWE as the Royal Rumble is one of the few PPV’s casual fans will watch each year.

Strowman should also break the record for the most eliminations in a single rumble, a record currently held by Roman Reigns with 12 eliminations. If Strowman were to beat Roman’s record it would show fans that WWE now values him as the biggest current star in WWE.

#1 No 50/50 booking

50/50 booking does nothing but kill a stars momentum.
50/50 booking does nothing but kill a star's momentum

One of the biggest problems in WWE today is that they love to 50/50 book everyone. All this bad booking does is stop wrestlers from gaining any real momentum. Even if a wrestler does start to grow popular in WWE, they will make sure 50/50 booking just makes them another guy on the roster.

This is a big reason why WWE has not created a star as big as John Cena, The Rock or Stone Cold this decade. Strowman has not been overly exposed to this.

However, WWE has already 50/50 booked him against Roman Reigns which somewhat killed his momentum. They’ve also had him lose to Kalisto, Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.

If WWE do want to make Strowman a real star they can’t 50/50 book him. They just need to let him go out there and beat Brock, beat Roman and that be the end of it.

Just let Braun go out there, beat everyone up and before they know it, WWE will have a huge mainstream star in Braun Strowman.
