Nikki and Brie Bella retired from WWE just a few months after the Women's Tag Team Championships were created. As a result, the two women were unable to compete for the titles, though they're often viewed as one of the greatest female tag teams of all time.

As sisters, the two women have a desire to share the ring and the Women's Tag Team Championship belts. They have previously stated that they're interested in making their return in order to challenge for the gold.

As of this writing, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler hold the titles, but this could change after WrestleMania. The Bella Twins could wind up facing well-known opponents in the form of Naomi and Lana or Natalya and Tamina.

The WWE Women's Tag Team Championships have been the most pushed women's titles on WWE TV in recent weeks. Bringing The Bella Twins back to contend for the gold would only boost their credibility at this point.
