5 ways WWE could book Asuka ahead of The Royal Rumble

The women of WWE are set to make history next month as part of the first ever Women's Royal Rumble match but it seems that over the next four weeks there could be a number of major changes in the women's division in order for the storylines heading into WrestleMania to make sense.

It is thought that the winner of the Women's Rumble match will go on to face either the Raw or SmackDown Women's Champion depending on which brand the woman is part of who wins the historic match.

The fact that only Asuka, Naomi, Ruby Riott and Natalya have declared their involvement in the match so far, means that WWE could have some bigger plans for the women in the coming weeks.

#5 Asuka and Absolution

Asuka is still undefeated in WWE ever since she made her debut with many fans hoping that there could be a huge storyline leading up to the end of her undefeated streak. Absolution has set their sights on Asuka over the past few weeks and they could be the key to making sure Asuka is eliminated from The Rumble so that it actually makes sense.

Since Asuka was brought up to the main roster she hasn't faced anyone other than Dana Brooke, Emma and Alicia Fox who are all technically seen as jobbers. Paige has been protected since her return last month as well, which means that she would be the perfect person to eliminate Asuka from The Rumble if Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose help and Asuka is the victim of the numbers game.

WWE just have to plant the seeds of Absolution and Asuka over the next few weeks so that the pay off inside The Rumble actually makes sense.

#4 Asuka could win the Raw Women's Championship

Asuka announced that she was participating in the first ever Women's Royal Rumble match this past week on Raw when she was in the ring with Raw Women's Champion Alexa Bliss. It's obvious that Alexa isn't on the same level as Asuka and if the undefeated star does win The Rumble then Alexa won't stand a chance against her at WrestleMania.

Because Alexa is the Champion, she won't be a part of the history-making match on January 28th, but if WWE allowed Asuka to challenge Alexa before the match then someone like Paige could step up and challenge Asuka at WrestleMania instead since it seems that the money is all in the hype surrounding Paige and Asuka.

It would also mean that Asuka wouldn't have to be part of The Rumble and wouldn't have to be eliminated and risk making her look weak at any point during her on-going undefeated reign.

#3 Asuka is forced to enter The Rumble at number one

As part of the men's Royal Rumble match, they are allowed to pick numbers and that is then where they are forced to enter the match. If in the coming weeks Asuka manages to annoy The Authority on Raw so much that she is given The "Roman Reigns treatment" and forced to enter the match at number one before being eliminated by a number of women, she wouldn't look as bad as it would be if she came into the match near the end and failed to win.

Asuka will be the woman that many of the other Superstars will target because they know that she is the biggest threat in the match, so to have her go through a number of women and even break records when it comes to eliminations, ensures that even without a win, Asuka is left looking like a beast

#2 Asuka wins The Royal Rumble

It's the most obvious outcome of the match, but there is nothing stopping WWE from allowing Asuka to overcome the odds once again to become the first female winner of The Royal Rumble match.

Since Asuka and Alexa Bliss have already shown that there is some tension between them, the duo could be allowed to face off at Elimination Chamber, whilst Paige is then able to become the next challenger for Asuka at WrestleMania.

It seems that Paige up against Asuka is the most likely match for WrestleMania since Paige has Absolution behind her and three-on-one attacks will allow Asuka to continue to look strong. If this feud is done correctly then it would even be believable for Paige to end the streak at WrestleMania next April.

#1 Asuka versus Alexa Bliss at The Rumble

Many of the WWE Universe are worried that Asuka being announced for the match means that it's quite obvious that the undefeated star will walk out as the winner. Even though her being eliminated from the match won't actually affect her undefeated streak, WWE need to do everything they can to ensure that Asuka remains the biggest threat to the Women's Championship.

Every decision in WWE can be changed and the fact that Asuka and Alexa have already had a face-off means that the company could decide to go off on a tangent and allow Asuka to face Alexa Bliss at The Royal Rumble rather than putting her into the actual match. That way Asuka will become Champion and she can then go on to face whoever wins The Rumble if it's a Raw superstar which could easily set up Asuka versus Paige at WrestleMania.
