5 ways WWE could book the Women's Division ahead of The Royal Rumble

WWE has a number of options for their women in the coming weeks

The women of WWE are merely weeks away from making history with the first ever Women's Royal Rumble match taking place on January 28th. It seems that many women have already announced their participation in the match including the undefeated Asuka, Absolution from Raw and Naomi and The Riott Squad from SmackDown Live.

Despite the history-making match taking place in just a few weeks time, there are a number of things that WWE could do to allow the women to maximise on this opportunity. Right now it has been made obvious that at least 10 spots in the match will be filled by surprise call-ups from NXT or the returns of legends, but it seems that it's the women who are currently on the main roster that WWE needs to focus on.

#5 Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville need to pick up singles wins on Raw

Mandy and Sonya need to have a decent few weeks ahead of The Rumble

Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville have been on Raw now for two months alongside Paige as they make up Absolution. The trio announced that they were going to be part of the Royal Rumble this past week on Raw but it seems that many of the WWE Universe are still on the fence when it comes to the kind of contribution that the two women could make to the match as a whole.

The duo has not yet been given a singles match on Raw, which could be why fans are unsure of what to think about them.

WWE needs to push Mandy and Sonya before the match so that it seems as though they actually have a chance in the match, right now they look as though they could be used to make up the numbers and be eliminated by someone like Nia Jax, but if they are pushed in the next few weeks, then many fans could change their minds.

#4 Becky Lynch needs to be pushed above Charlotte

Even though Charlotte is the SmackDown Women's Champion, she can't actually enter the Royal Rumble match, which means that building her up over the next few weeks would be pointless especially if she won't be defending her title at the event.

Becky Lynch made her return to SmackDown Live this week and proved that she still has what it takes to step up to The Riott Squad, even though she has had a rough year on the SmackDown brand. Becky was once seen as the future of the division and it seems that everyone has forgotten this since Charlotte made her way over to the Tuesday night show last year, but this could be Becky's chance to regain her lost momentum.

Becky could be one of the women that many people are looking at from the SmackDown brand to go on to win The Rumble and a good push ahead of the event will do her no harm.

#3 Nia Jax needs to become a threat again

Nia needs to rediscover the dominant form that she once had
Nia needs to rediscover the dominant form that she once had

Nia Jax was brought up to the main roster back in 2016 as part of the WWE draft and should have been booked as the dominant star that she was down in NXT.

Nia hasn't been given the opportunities that she deserves over the past few months and it seems that she has now become part of a strange storyline with Enzo Amore rather than being focused on the upcoming history making a match.

Nia hasn't even announced her participation in the match yet, which is a shock since she would have to be one of the favourites to win it. Nia needs to find a way to return to the Women's Division over the next few weeks and announce that she will be part of the match since it could be the best option Nia currently has if she's hoping to become Women's Champion in the near future.

#2 Asuka should become Raw Women's Champion

Asuka needs to win the Raw Women's Championship before the Rumble
Asuka needs to win the Raw Women's Championship before the Rumble

Asuka is the most dominant female wrestler in the company right now and it would be a waste to add her to the Royal Rumble when her character could be weakened by an elimination at the hands of any of the current roster.

The Undefeated former NXT Women's Champion has now been able to defeat current Champion Alexa Bliss which means that she should be given a shot at the Women's title in the near future.

Giving Asuka the Women's Championship rather than putting her in the Royal Rumble would be a much better option for her since Asuka as the Champion could set up a number of fantasy matches on the Road to WrestleMania.

#1 Carmella should cash in her Money In The Bank contract

Carmella needs to cash in her contract soon
Carmella needs to cash in her contract soon

Carmella is perhaps the only woman on WWE's current main roster that doesn't have a Championship but won't be featured in The Royal Rumble. It would be pointless for the former NXT star to enter the match when she already has a shot at the Women's Championship in her hand.

Right now the focus is elsewhere in the division and Carmella's best chance was at Hell in a Cell a few weeks ago whilst Charlotte was distracted, but if she wants to play her part in one of the biggest matches the women of WWE have had in the history of the company then she would have to cash in her Money in the Bank briefcase first.

It's unlikely that Carmella would be able to dethrone Charlotte at this point in her career, but right now it seems as though the case has become an afterthought on the SmackDown brand and she could end up being forced to rush her cash in if she isn't careful.
