#3 Chris Jericho

The Ayatolla of Rock n' Rolla
The Ayatolla of Rock n' Rolla

Chris Jericho has much the same story as Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio from their WCW usage and perception in the company. A perennial Cruiserweight Championship contender with 4 reigns in the company, feuding with Dean Malenko, Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero and Alex Wright, before winning the WCW TV Championship from Stevie Ray (of Harlem Heat) in 1998. Chris wanted to move up into the heavyweight title picture and positioned himself with a match against Goldberg. WCW management (including Goldberg) did not see this as money-making and quashed the idea. Jericho took this as a foregone conclusion that he would never be in that position and so left the company.

Raw is War on August 1999 in Chicago saw Chris Jericho's big reveal using a millennium countdown clock and interrupted the 'People's Champ' The Rock. Chris had already made a big impression even though being in the company for a matter of minutes. Steadily working his way through the ranks of WWF/E and winning the Intercontinental Championship on 4 occasions, the European Championship and Tag Team championships, Chris would set his sights on the ultimate goal.

This goal was finally accomplished when Chris beat The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin, the two biggest stars in Professional Wrestling, in one night, to become WWE's first Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World. This was a massive leap from his days in WCW and solidified himself as a 'Main Event Guy'. Jericho's accomplishments stand as a 6-time World Heavyweight Champion, a record 9-time Intercontinental Champion and a 7-time World Tag Champion amongst others. He has also conquered the music, movie and podcasting world. A future member of the WWE Hall of Fame for sure!
