The WWE bosses including Stephanie McMahon (left) could possibly book R-Truth (center) as WWE Champion

Having performed for the WWE in the late 1990s and early 2000s, R-Truth wrestled in several other promotions including TNA (now--Impact Wrestling), before returning to the WWE in 2008. The Truth has been a staple of the WWE's main roster ever since, and is regarded by many as one of the most hard-working and consistent performers today.

Despite being a veteran of the business, what with him having competed for well over a couple of decades, R-Truth has never quite been able to capture a World Championship in the WWE. Blame it on a lack of push or untimely injuries derailing his potential world title runs, it's simply criminal that this underrated Superstar is yet to even get a whiff of the coveted gold in the WWE Universe.

With his recent resurgence on the main roster, courtesy him teaming up with Carmella, fan-interest in R-Truth seems to have reignited in a huge way. Today, we are going to be looking at the before, during and after of a highly desirable possible storyline where R-Truth captures the WWE Championship on SmackDown Live...

#5 Be like water

R-Truth excels in any and every role
R-Truth excels in any and every role

To paraphrase legendary martial artist Bruce Lee -- "Be like water, my friend." -- It's indeed an invaluable lesson in any and every dominion of life that adaptability is key for an individual to succeed. What the aforesaid Bruce Lee saying implies, is that you must be ready to adapt to whatever life throws your way.

Now, it wouldn't be an overstatement to say that R-Truth is the embodiment of that theory! The man known to sports-entertainment fans the world over alternately as Ron Killings has shined like a true star irrespective of what role the WWE accords to him...R-Truth can be a comedic performer, a serious fast-paced athlete, a maniacal villain, a pitbull-like tenacious warrior, and so on and so forth.

R-Truth once held the WWE Tag Team Championships with Kofi Kingston -- at a time when the former started gaining an incredible amount of traction as a potential big-time star -- which simply goes to show that Truth excelling in a tag team role without any excessive push, truly proves how over he'd be should the company get behind him by making him WWE Champion...

#4 The Hardcore Truth

R-Truth is as hardcore an athlete as this sport has ever seen
R-Truth is as hardcore an athlete as this sport has ever seen

It seems to be a somewhat forgotten fact that R-Truth is a former 2-time WWF Hardcore Champion. Well, given that the man still performs splits as though he were fresh out of the college gymnastic team, it may not come as a surprise to many that he's no stranger to the hard-hitting hardcore style of pro-wrestling.

While most detractors of The Truth may point out that he's 46 years of age now, and booking him as WWE Champion would be akin to chasing fool's gold; his in-ring skills and undeniable athleticism shut down all critics! Besides, if Bill Goldberg could have a run as the Universal Champion at the age of 50, R-Truth -- who seems to be in much better cardiovascular shape than Goldberg -- could surely reign as the WWE Champion...

#3 Irritate Samoa Joe

R-Truth could really push Samoa Joe over the limit
R-Truth could really push Samoa Joe over the limit

With reigning WWE Champion AJ Styles set to defend his title against arch rival Samoa Joe at WWE Super Show-Down, the professional wrestling world is divided 50-50 as to who'll walk home from Australia with the WWE Championship in tow. Well, irrespective of the aforesaid match's outcome, it'd be folly to think that Joe wouldn't win the WWE Title at some point over the next few months.

Should Joe capture the WWE Championship from Styles, R-Truth could serve as the unlikeliest foil to the newly-crowned WWE Champion's reign. Armed with the street smarts of his friend, tag team partner and manager Carmella, R-Truth could enter a feud with Joe over the WWE Title...In what may be a bigger upset than X-Pac beating Razor Ramon or "Buster" Douglas knocking out Mike Tyson back in the day, R-Truth could dethrone Joe for the WWE Championship by simply discombobulating his opponent and taking advantage of an angry Joe for the roll-up pin and the victory...

#2 Solve the Nakamura puzzle

Shinsuke Nakamura would be a great feud for R-Truth
Shinsuke Nakamura would be a great feud for R-Truth

Shinsuke Nakamura's run as a face on the WWE main roster was criticized as being a tad bland by some of Naka's critics, however a shocking heel turn at WrestleMania 34 this year and the continuation of his rivalry with AJ Styles over the WWE Championship truly revitalized the Japanese megastar's career. "The Artist" currently holds the United States Championship, and is one of SmackDown Live's top Superstars today.

After capturing the WWE Championship from Samoa Joe, R-Truth could move on to a rivalry with Nakamura. Now, the latter -- though not as large a unit as Joe -- presents a unique set of challenges to any WWE Superstar on the planet! A feud between R-Truth and Nakamura would be one for the ages, as both performers have incredible athleticism, excellent wrestling skills and tremendously quirky personalities.

R-Truth could have Carmella help him deal with the mind games of Nakamura, as the former would use his own brand of awkward mental warfare quirks as well as Carmella's quick-witted tactics to outsmart the ever-dangerous Naka en route to a few successful title defenses...

#1 Randy Orton: The Legend Killer

Randy Orton has beaten several veterans over the course of his career
Randy Orton has beaten several veterans over the course of his career

Randy Orton truly broke through as a bona fide Superstar after adopting his "Legend Killer" gimmick which really took off after his time with Evolution was over. Orton would systematically break down and destroy numerous professional wrestling legends as a part of his psychopathic Legend Killer act.

Well, he recently returned to the Randy Orton of old -- brutally attacking several Superstars such as Jeff Hardy and Tye Dillinger -- once again reminding the WWE Universe why he'd been bestowed names such as The Legend Killer and The Viper. Orton could serve as R-Truth's final feud, bringing an end to the latter's time as WWE Champion.

The rivalry may possibly serve as heel Orton's path to glory which will see him win add yet another WWE Championship reign to his resume. Orton can unleash a myriad of psychological warfare tactics on R-Truth which could include Orton hurting Carmella, much like The Viper did Stephanie McMahon during his feud with Triple H (check video below).
