Ember Moon has repeatedly been on the cusp of entering the top tier of main-roster females.
Her eliminating Asuka in the battle royal at Evolution was a big step in her solidifying herself as a future champion.
Asuka's elimination was another chapter in the storied history the two women have shared since their days in NXT.
Moon could never defeat the Empress of Tomorrow in NXT, so getting to be the one to eliminate Asuka made sense.
Moon even has gotten the better of friend Nia Jax in the past. Jax did eliminate Moon to win the battle royal, but she's had her shots at Ronda and lost.
Moon's potential win could help springboard her forward if done right. If she can choose which champion to face, she might even jump to Smackdown to face Becky Lynch if she's still holding the gold by April.
Smackdown is lacking in credible babyfaces outside of Asuka, so adding Moon could through her challenging of Lynch would strengthen the division and add another top face to the Tuesday night ladies' division.
