5 Worst moments of WWE Elimination Chamber 2018

Elimination Chamber was very much hit and miss

Elimination Chamber took place last night live from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and whilst the show itself promised so much, it seems that it actually delivered very little.

If the Chamber structure was taken away then it could be argued that this was just an overhyped and extended episode of Monday Night Raw. Whilst the WWE Universe wondered who it would be who was walking into WrestleMania as Women's Champion and who would go on to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship in the main event, it seems that there were also a lot of additions to the show that didn't live up to the hype of the final Raw pay-per-view stop before WrestleMania 34.

#5 Sasha Banks no-sells a Twisted Bliss off the top of a pod

By all accounts, the first ever Women's Elimination Chamber was a huge success and it saw Alexa Bliss prove her dominance over the Division once again as she walked out as she successfully defended her Raw Women's Champion inside the structure.

One of the spots in the match when it came down to Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss saw the Women's Champion hit Twisted Bliss off the top of her pod onto the outside of the ring. Sasha took the move before rolling over and locking in the Bank Statement.

Many of the WWE Universe reacted on Social Media as they wondered why Sasha no-sold a move of that magnitude from that high up as well. It wasn't the best part of the match, but sadly it's become the most memorable.

#4 Roman Reigns pinning Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman became the first person to pin eliminate five different men in one Elimination Chamber match last night by taking out all of his competition which left Strowman up against Roman Reigns.

It has been predicted for the past few months that Roman was going to face Brock at WrestleMania, which would be his fourth consecutive WrestleMania main event, but the WWE Universe still hoped that the way Strowman had been built would lead to him defeating Reigns and going on to the WrestleMania main event instead.

It seems that it wasn't that way as once again the predictable outcomes brought down the tone of the entire show and left many fans feeling as though they didn't need to watch the show since all of the winners were easy to predict ahead fo the show anyway.

#3 The Las Vegas crowd was terrible

The crowd didn't help the superstars on the show last night
The crowd didn't help the Superstars on the show last night

This one isn't really a moment, but it was one of the reasons why there were so many horrible moments throughout the show. The crowd cheered louder for a beach ball than they did for any stars on the show and made it so that the end to the Asuka v Nia Jax flat seemed flat, the Rousey contract signing didn't even generate the reaction that any other crowd would have cheered for.

There was also a point where the crowd decided to start chanting about Rusev Day rather than the action that was going on right in front of them.

It's always hit and miss with live crowds but WWE tried their best to ensure that there were enough parts for the audience to be able to make noise on but it seems that this crowd was dead for most parts of the show and made it seem as though this was just another episode of Monday Night Raw.

#2 Asuka predictably defeated Nia Jax

Asuka vs Nia Jax was a fantastic match with the wrong outcome
Asuka vs Nia Jax was a fantastic match with the wrong outcome

Asuka's undefeated streak has reached the point that The Undertaker's did at WrestleMania, it's like it's almost obvious that she isn't going to be defeated and WWE is allowing her to get all of these victories clean.

Whilst the actual finish was quite a decent one, it would have been much better if WWE actually gave Jax something here. She has been overlooked for so much of her main roster career and this was her big moment to prove that she could be a beast and she just became another name on Asuka's list.

Where does this leave Nia now? The attack after the match doesn't change the fact that Nia lost her match and now she doesn't get a Women's Championship match at WrestleMania even though it could be argued that she richly deserves it.

#1 Kurt Angle on the mic

Ronda's contract signing didn't go according to plan
Ronda Rousey's contract signing didn't go according to plan

So it's probably quite obvious by now that the Ronda Rousey segment didn't go to plan. It could have been nerves that hit the former UFC Champion but when she first started cutting her promo, it didn't have the impact many fans thought it would.

Luckily, Kurt Angle was the one who completely botched on the mic when he managed to state that Rousey was at WrestleMania 21 rather than 31 as well as stumbling over his words a number of times, something he has become iconic for over the past few weeks.

Angle and Rousey have been rumoured to be teaming up at WrestleMania to take on Stephanie McMahon and Triple H, but if last night's segment is anything to go by, it seems that all four stars need to find a way to gain a little more chemistry and stop allowing their promos to be so flat and the stars to stop tripping over their words.
