The Grandest Stage of Them All has always been home, to some of the most shocking yet special moments in WWE history. Its extravagant presentation of storytelling sometimes lives up to the hype and entertains fans to the core.

There are some moments in professional wrestling you'll never forget even if you wanted to. These shocking WrestleMania moments had their share of criticism and it's share of acceptance from the hardcore as well as the casual audience. What lies so common in these moments is that they left the audience stunned with their eyes open in shock.

Here are some WrestleMania moments you never saw coming.

#5 Daniel Bryan's WrestleMania 28 'Burial'

D
A rather short bout

Well, if you tuned into WrestleMania 28 to watch the 'Once in a Lifetime Match' between John Cena and the Rock, you certainly must have missed this match in the blink of an eye. Daniel Bryan's loss to Sheamus in an 18 second 'waste of a wrestling' match came as nothing, but a disappointing shocker to all the hardcore fans.

Sheamus brogue kicked Bryan right after the bell rang and pinned him right in the middle of the ring. WWE has a habit of getting huge ovations by presenting their talented wrestlers as a joke but nobody saw this coming, considering how over Bryan was at that time.

It felt nothing short of a burial and a lot of fans in the Sun Life Stadium reacted vehemently to the finish. The shocking finish definitely helped Bryan become the greatest babyface of all time but, it still continues to haunt the hardcore fans till this date.

#4 Sting losing his only match at WrestleMania 31

Triple
The Icon at his first WrestleMania

It's so heartbreaking to imagine that the biggest star of WCW who never stepped foot inside a WWE ring, goes to WrestleMania and loses to Triple H. 'The Vigilante' made his debut at Survivor Series in 2014 where he stood against The Authority and annihilated 'The Game'.

The fans were amazed at the shocking debut of the Icon but despite the potential of this legendary performer, WWE presented him like a fool at the Grandest Stage of them All. Everyone at Levi's Stadium anticipated Sting to get the better off Triple H but much to the excitement of the fans, WWE pulled off such a shocker, that still disappoints a lot of fans.

Sting lost his only match at WrestleMania and despite producing a classic encounter integrated with a fine involvement of DX and NWO, it still remains a moment that nobody saw coming.

#3 Stone Cold selling his soul at WrestleMania 17

Stone Cold turned heel at WrestleMania 17

If at WrestleMania 34, Daniel Bryan faces Shane McMahon and stuns the whole world by turning heel and aligning with Vince McMahon at the later stages of the match, you will understand what the 67,000 fans in attendance at the NRG Stadium felt when Stone Cold turned heel.

Despite being the greatest star in the wrestling industry, Stone Cold aligned with his greatest rival, Vince McMahon and defeated The Rock at WrestleMania 17.

He was such an iconic face that it was too hard for fans to digest the fact that he turned his back on them. The heel turn eventually failed to work but it created such a shocking moment, that absolutely nobody saw it coming.

#2 Seth Rollins pulls off the unimaginable at WrestleMania 31

Seth Rollins wins the WWE Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 31

Personally, if there's any moment that got me on the edge of my seat and gave me chills down my spine, it is this one. Roman Reigns squared off against Brock Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania 31 in what was a classic encounter and while the fans were totally against the idea of Reigns getting his moment, the company pulled off a shocker that night.

Seth Rollins pulled off the impossible by running down to the ring and successfully cashing in his Money in the Bank contract to win the WWE Championship. The company understood the repercussions of Reigns winning the title and therefore, pulled off the heist of the century.

Seth made history by becoming the first wrestler to cash in his MITB Contract at WrestleMania as well as the first member of The Shield to hold the most coveted prize. Some WrestleMania moments really become special because of the timing of it all, and this moment certainly delivered the unexpected.

#1 The Undertaker's streak gets conquered at WrestleMania 30

The
The most tragic moment in WrestleMania history

If you're a die-hard fan of The Undertaker, you have never watched this moment again considering it's so haunting to watch. 'The Phenom' faced Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30 in a dream match and despite the anticipation surrounding this bout, the match failed to deliver and most significantly presented the fans with a horrifying tragedy that is too hard to put in words.

Brock Lesnar conquered the streak of The Undertaker at the Super Dome and the whole arena went dead silent. 'The Phenom' is considered the greatest performer in WrestleMania history and seeing him fall down to Lesnar was nothing short of tragic.

There's no denying that The Undertaker still continues to be a WrestleMania attraction but the streak seemed like an unending prospect after 21-0. A lot of WWE fans hate Vince McMahon for pushing the envelope and even to this day, it is considered the most tragic moment in WrestleMania history.
