Marty Scurll has taken his 'Villain' character to much success in ROH and NJPW.

'Villain Club' is in full swing.
Like Castle, 'The Villain' is already a well-defined character. He's good on the mic and has been great in matches whether it be high-flying, mat-based or submission-based. His matches with Will Ospreay in NJPW have been great as have his matches with Jay Lethal, Castle and Kenny King in ROH.

He doesn't always mean to 'cause a spot of bother', but knowing his character, he usually does.
He's clearly a performer rather than just a wrestler and Vince loves those guys. He calls them sports entertainers rather than pro wrestlers. Scurll just happens to be great at both.
Like Gordon, though, he shouldn't be pigeonholed onto 205 Live. A lot of the guys on that show are great wrestlers without much character definition. Like many fans can attest, he is already one of the most popular characters in the sport. Let him be the Villain we all love to hate and love to love.
