5 wrestlers who can cause the biggest upset at WrestleMania 34

Remember Fandango's upset win over Chris Jericho at WrestleMania 29?
Remember Fandango's upset win over Chris Jericho at WrestleMania 29?

With less than 12 hours away, WrestleMania 34 is set to be the grandest and most thrilling WWE event of all time. WWE has not disappointed its fans, as a star-studded match card is ready with high profile matches like AJ Styles versus Shinsuke Nakamura, and Roman Reigns versus Brock Lesnar.

Every year, one gets to witness at least one upset that was not on anyone's mind. Whether it's Fandango defeating Chris Jericho at WrestleMania 29, or Reigns retiring The Undertaker last year, there's always a performer who is booked to become an overnight superstar.

Here are five wrestlers who can do the unthinkable and cause a shocking upset at WrestleMania 34.

#5 Zack Ryder

Another Mania, another upset?
Another Mania, another upset?

Zack Ryder became an overnight star when he won the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 32. A premature celebration by The Miz caused Ryder to capitalize and win his first IC title in WWE. 'The Long Island Iced-Z' is set for another endeavour as he and 29 other wrestlers battle it out to win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

With names like Elias, Dolph Ziggler, Baron Corbin, and Matt Hardy already announced for the match, the chances for Ryder to go all the way seems very bleak. Considering his current run as a jobber, nobody would be expecting Zack to go all the way, and win the match.

That's where the element of surprise comes in. His victory at WrestleMania will be less of an upset, but more like a long-awaited saving grace.

Ryder's an underrated workhorse who deserves the attention at the grandest stage, and a monumental Battle Royal victory might act as a push for his future career in WWE. Week in and week out, Zack Ryder has been a consistent performer, and it's time the WWE rewards him for his remarkable in-ring abilities.

#4 The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro)

Can they overcome Braun Strowman?
Can they overcome Braun Strowman?

Braun Strowman shocked everyone when he won the Tag-Team Battle Royal and became the #1 Contender for the RAW Tag-Team Championships. He still may be void of a partner, but that didn't stop him from challenging Sheamus and Cesaro at WrestleMania 34.

Strowman seems to be the ideal pick to win the titles. Rumors are flying around that his partner may be a big name like Bobby Lashley or Samoa Joe, so it's unlikely for The Bar to come close to retaining their championships. But you never know, WWE might have planned a bigger surprise for the fans.

Cesaro and Sheamus’ tag run has been phenomenal and should get a better send-off than this. Moreover, Braun winning the tag titles would keep him in the tag team division for a while, which is not good considering 'The Monster among Men' is arguably the best performer in WWE today and deserves a main event singles stint.

The Bar retaining their championships might come as a shock, but is best for business, as the duo are extremely charismatic and has excelled as tag-team champions.

#3 Jinder Mahal

Can the Maharaja survive the Fatal-4 way?
Can the Maharaja survive the Fatal-4 way?

Jinder Mahal may not be in the best position as he tries to get his hands on the United States Championship in a Fatal-4 way match against huge names like Bobby Roode and Randy Orton, and the recently added, Rusev.

Rusev's inclusion in the match has made it a slightly more bearable, as there was a lack of buildup and storytelling otherwise. Nobody would be thinking about Mahal winning the title at the Show of Shows. That's where things can get interesting.

'The Modern day Maharaja' winning the United States Championship at WrestleMania would come as a huge surprise for the fans. His current run as a heel has been his best so far, and WWE may as well put a title on him and roll with it. Mahal doesn't have the best win record at PPVs, so the victory might make it look a little better.

#2 Alexa Bliss

Will Bliss overcome the monster in Nia Jax?
Will Bliss overcome the monster in Nia Jax?

Alexa Bliss has been the Raw Women's Champion since August last year. She has brushed off all the competition in Sasha Banka, Bayley, and Mickie James. The only person left is her former best friend Nia Jax, who she will face at WrestleMania 34.

Nia Jax has finally got the long-awaited push and will be the favorite to win the title at the grandest stage, as a championship run for her is overdue. But what if Bliss pulls off something amazing and retains her title this Sunday?

To overcome and conquer the monster in Jax, Alexa Bliss needs to distract the referee or take James' help. But even after that, if she manages to retain her title, that will be a swerve in itself. A victory over Nia Jax would not only be astonishing, but it will cement Alexa's position at the top of Women's division.

#1 The Miz

The biggest upset of WrestleMania 34?

The Miz is in for the fight of his life as he defends his Intercontinental Championship against two technically gifted wrestlers in Seth Rollins and Finn Balor. While Balor remains a top fan favorite since his debut on the main-roster, Rollins has earned the title of Monday Night Rollins after defeating Roman Reigns and John Cena on a single night.

Going up against two of the best performers in WWE won't be an easy task for The Miz. He may not be the favorite to retain the title, but he's not new to high stakes matches either. With The Miztourage on his side, The Miz could cause the biggest possible upset of the night.

The A-Lister always has an ace up his sleeve and would go to any extent to make sure the title remains with him. Moreover, a clean victory over Balor and Rollins will probably be the most shocking moment of his career.
